Spitfire temporarily left its concert hall to sample two instruments from the 60s and 70s, a Vox electric piano and an electrophone.
The Producer Portfolio extends with two new sample libraries for the full versions of Kontakt 4 and 5: the PP010 Rare Groove E. Piano and PP011 Deep Sampled Electrophone.
Rare Groove E. Piano offers in a 6.7GB uncompressed library no less than 8940 samples of a VOX E.P, but also sounds of a harpsichord and a fingered electric bass. You’ll find presets for each instrument as well as a combi with all of them. The piano is monophonic, so Spitfire duplicated its signal via 6 signal chains by using vintage Class A gear (Neve pream and Cranesong converters, Thermionic Culture Vulture, Roland Dimension D, Telefunken Spring and a guitar summing mixer). The result in is “Super Mono” and you can assign the different outputs in Kontakt.
The custom Kontakt GUI offers various controls, such as the number of round robins, tuning, and Spitfire included its Mercury Synth with which you can change the sound of the library by adding effects (chorus, phaser, distortion, tremolo…).
Rare Groove E. Piano is available for the introductory price of £7.50 instead of £10 until August 1st.
The second collection is Deep Sampled Electrophone, a library that reproduces every detail (in an almost “absurd” way, say Spitfire) the sound of an old electrophone with multiple round robins and distinct samples for the noises (they even recorded the sound of the stylus on the contact metal plate with multiple velocity layers).
The library features 1166 samples (0.5GB uncompressed) that you can play polyphonically and you can adjust the vibrato, mix the 6 mic perspectives/signal paths (414, SM57, Coles, Schoeps microphones, Neve preamp, Cranesong converter and even reamping via a Marshall JCM stack). The Mercury Synth is also included.
The Electrophone library also has an introductory price of £9 until August 1st, regular price is £12.
Spitfire adds that educational discounts apply for both sound libraries.
