Published on 09/26/11 at 11:10This is an Overdrive pedal in the Marshall, analog, with 4 control knobs: one switch "Mode" to two positions (drive and boost), and adjustments Drive, Tone and Volume.
UTILIZATION
Like all effects pedals of this type, use is very simple since it suffices to turn the knobs on its desire to find the sound you want.
SOUND QUALITY
Unfortunately on this essential point that the Bluesbreaker Marshall II did not convince me. Even with a Fender Telecaster sound loses its slamming, no matter the settings of the effect. It is possible to get a little crunch or distortion but a big sound that comes out is not at all to my taste. Highs do not come out and it seems to play only three chords. The boost mode does nothing more since the pedal is supposed to be an overdrive.
I use a ProCo RAT2 in distortion, and when I tried to combine the two effects, the sound coming out of the amp was just awful, as if choking Bluesbreaker the instrument. In short, impossible to get out good sound with this pedal for me.
OVERALL OPINION
I used this pedal a little over a year the time to find that replacement. All the while, in fact, I spent a bit of overdrive. I ended up selling it to buy a Boss Blues Driver, which suits me perfectly. Of course, with the experience I would do not have that choice.
