I bought it as soon as it came out. I am happy for my audio applications. my sequencer Cubase SX 2 runs well with. the audio dock and the menu offers lots of possibilities. it handles very well in all my other windows applications such as games and DVDs. Asio 2 takes care of everything! Finally, a card not too expensive and professional. (I recommend for a good scratch DI anyway)

UTILIZATION

Warning! initialization bug patch mix sometimes at startup of Windows XP. must then wait.
the configuration is pretty cool. manual CD is zero. but it helps out

OVERALL OPINION

She arrived pile hair. My choice will be focused on the 2496 RME.

The CHARACTERISTICS that motivated my choice:

- The number of input / output (Even if for the moment I am using only two inputs and output pramplifies Master) => Evolution Home-studio possible without changing card;
- Both inputs pramplifies;
- The opinion DIFFERENT posts by same

The use I made:

I use this card mainly to record guitars and vocals.

My config:
Amd 3000 +, 512MB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive
I put 10 as my ideal CHARACTERISTICS

UTILIZATION

Installation:

No problem, we install the PCI card, the driver, plug the interface and a roll No incompatibilitsdtectes

Configuration:

The mixer (The PatchMix) is not empty forcment beginners to understand if we have to do routing. For my part, I left the base, I just changed the slices, in which case, any difficulty.

Ngatif point however, the drivers sometimes crash .. Gnant is not unbearable, it reboot and it's good.

Manual:

It's clear air .. Actually, I really had no need to open it I saw the use of the card.

Assuming that I use exclusively VST (i) not too CPU intensive, I can read an average of seven tracks (Remembering that I only have 512 MB of RAM .. It helps not!)

OVERALL OPINION

This is THE FIRST audio interface I acquri following the ras-le-bol caused by the audio chipset on my motherboard, so I do not really lments of comparison but I use this sound card a few months and I am fully satisfied!

If I had to buy a card, I would do this choice? Yes, I think! As mentioned above, the fact that I can serve me in many configurations diffrent is an important issue and its report is qualitprix INTERESTED.

Overall rating: 8 / 10. J'enlve two points because of the crashes (but not rguliers happens from time to time) of drivers. Nothing too serious, I never lost my job but can be Gnant when you are full Fast Fashion

Food fantme is enabled for both channels at the same time by a switch
and distinguished by a light. Two commands would damage spares t better.
Be careful not to feed into a 48 volt microphone that does not ncssite.

I use Cubase 5.1 VST comes with the card.
Otherwise I do not use VST software

I note 9 / 10 because of the power fantme common to both microphone inputs.

UTILIZATION

Installation:
This audio-numrique consists of a 1010 insrer card in a PCI slot of PC
External Casing and a 1820.
A connector cable with RJ45 (network) of 3 m is supplied to connect the card and the case.
It must also connect a cable provided to power the Casing in 5/12V output sector of the PC power supply.
No problem installing on a PC because Windows XP is responsible to install the drivers provided on a CD-Rom.
Ctrun.exe software to install the applications that came with the card.
It is mandatory to install the E-MU Patch Mix DSP because it can grate the map.
The Casing can be installed in a rack (hardware included) occupies a unit in height and 1 / 2 wide.
However, the indication lights frquence uses MIDI signals prsence situs on the cot and case law will not be visible in a Rack.
The bundled software:
- E-MU Patch Mix DSP dj cit above.
- Steinberg Cubase VST 5.1 version complte.
- WaveLite Steinberg.
- Plug-ins SFX Lt (I have not tried yet)

I note 10/10 because the installation does not pose a problem
and configuration and management of the card looks great with E-MU Patch Mix DSP.

Lentre Stereo phono (RCA Casing on the 1820) is dconnecte automatically when using lentre 3 (L & R)

If you work the 96 kHz frquence DEnter down the number 10 used in two modes of work are:
-8 Analog (2 mic combo jack / XLR and jack inputs 6 symtriques 6.35).
Numriques -2 S / PDIF (RCA on the map 1010)
The port-ADAT is then disables.
or
-6 Is the 2 analog mic combo jack / XLR jack and 4 between 6.35 symtriques (entries 2 (L & R) and 3 (L & R) are then disables es.

If you work in the 192 kHz frquence DEnter down the number 4 used in four modes of work are:
The 2-mic combo jack / XLR and two line two inputs (L & R)
or
The 2-mic combo jack / XLR and two channels of ADAT port.
or
2 between the line-2 (L & R) and two channels of ADAT port.
or
2 between the line-1 (L & R) and 2 between line 1 (L & R).

If you took lenvie connect more than two microphones with XLR connection on the 1820 simultanment, know quil is possible to convert the entries in the XLR jack 6.35 CC adaptation ugly EST possible! It will then lapplication via E-MU Patch Mix DSP gre paramtrer the 1820 level dentre -10 to + 4 dB. Cest prvu!

I will return ds complter notice I have a little more exprience with this card.
I just buy it and install it.
I bought it in Germany and I have no doc in French.
Rest assured if you buy it in France it will not be the case.
I have no other exprience in the Contents is my Premire card on PC.
The price is 399 Euros
The report qualitprix seems excellent.
It seems to me that this price there is no comparison on the market.
I also considered buying a Lexicon Omega but it is more and seems less CHRE complte among other effects in the Intgr 1820.

I notice 7 / 10 because I only started using this card.
I will return to correct if necessary.

Its real nice to have all the inputs and outputs, the mic preamps sound great, except after 2 years of use the A line has been having some voltage issues, large fluctuations at about .5 hz. The onboard effects are a nice touch, but i hardly use them, they have weird latency problems when i link them into FL Studio.

Price paid: 399 USD

UTILIZATION

It took me a bit to understand how it went about using asio, but now that i understand it i get around pretty well, and ut can actually be fun to use. I can put reverb on someones voice while recording dry. Its nice to have a digital mixer, but an analog mixer is ten times better.

GETTING STARTED

Like i said earlier the mic A input is hardly usable now, and the headphone input is feeling loose(pops and cracks when moved), guess it might be time to get a headphone amp, and maybe a mic pre. It was great while it worked though.

OVERALL OPINION

Well MUCH better than the crap that comes out of a stock sound card. Though I havn't heard any other interfaces in the price range through my monitors.

Well it was my first prosumer card, and i don't have much to base my opinion on other than my friends equipment. It definatly has better features than other interfaces in its price range. Its treated me well, but it hasn't been increadibly reliable. I'll have to get a new interface at some point, and i'm not going to buy another EMU. I guess its a good card for the money, but its only to tie you over till you go for the big/expensive stuff.
