Pedal can be useful in volume and wah. Personally I use the Zoom G2 for these two functions when I'm traveling to avoid burden myself with a real wah.
In this connection should not be too difficult, it's not worth a real course, but it still makes service.
As for the price: I brought from Germany new for less than € 30 including postage.
In this case it's worth it.
