«  Very nice machine ... »

Value For Money : Excellent
The device is the most comprehensive in the genus level connections.
The midi in 2 are very useful for example when an input is used to synchronize the MPC slave to the computer while the other receives a variety of MIDI messages. The 4 midi out can use the sequencer to control synths and sound modules or external effects. I drive for example real-time in a Pod xt noon (wha-wha, delays, the tempo of delays, etc.). A TC Helicon (chorus notes, effects, tones, etc.)..
8 audio out. I particularly appreciate the adat output that allows me to connect to my 8 outputs 01V with a single optical cable. Possibly missing word clock inputs and outputs for digital synchro really accurate.
USB input enables the exchange of audio files with the computer (or audio samples)
The effects are quite suitable for electronic music and have a very flexible routing.
The core sampled sounds are good but the interest is of course to have to run my own sounds suited to my style.
The synth part is not bad at all even if it does not equal the best current synths.
The sequencer is great despite the repeated notes on the bug that touch. The edition is obviously more difficult than on a computer as with all sequencers like that.
For editing is the same sample, it is very comprehensive and focused rhythmic loop, but longer than on a computer. As prepare all that is possible in the computer and then import it to me easier and faster.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration is not very simple at first because it is a very complete machine and therefore quite complex and also because the architecture is to put on several sequences and modes "songs" complicates things.
It takes at least a good week of hard work to feel on familiar ground.
The English manual is not helping enough a poor practitioner of this beautiful language.
The usual functions are not always accessible even if all have no buttons, pads, sliders, given the many possibilities of the beast.
2.0 The bone is not yet perfect and the machine has a few bugs.

SOUNDS

Sounds when they are all mine will suit my style! I'm working!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a month. I flirted with the MC 808 with which the feeling was very average.
The MPC 5000 is the only one to be in control external devices along its own lines of synths or samples, to have eight audio tracks to work as well in sync with my software has to have such a connection pro.
Its only competitor is a reliable computer with reliable software and a reliable sound card and an area of quality control.
The price / quality ratio is good.
In all cases MPC 5000 or the computer is especially time spent creating and controlling the hardware that really counts.
Personally I like both, but on stage the MPC is more convincing!
