«  Old sampler families »

"What connection (audio, MIDI ...)?
How many sounds, styles available? Are they edited? Through a utility Mac / PC?
He has an effects section?
What caractériques sequencer? ... "

This is a good old sampler 90s. Sans option has 4mb of memory and record of backups on disk is 3.2 "(1.4 mb).

All options it has 32 MB of memory, 8 separate audio outputs and an effects module. Little is also connect a separate SCSI (CD HDD, CD, etc.). Device.

Do not ask. Yet there is a possibility to install a Compact Flash drive using internal SCSI port (about € 350 I think and some electronics concept to perform the operation).

For sound, this is a sampler, an empty box as a blank page. A sampler 16 bit / 44 kHz and a sequencer that the heyday of the MPC. Like her sisters, the real highlight of this particular model is not very advanced in its editing options, it is this particular groove and simplicity of use. And there is little connect the MPC 2000 as a simple controller / MIDI sequencer controls the tracks instruments of any DAW. Overcoming in this way the technological deficits.

UTILIZATION

"The general configuration is it simple?
The usual functions are they easily accessible?
The manual is clear and sufficient? ... "

The use of MPC in general is childish. Ors put data storage which was very tedious at the time, make a beat with this machine and very easy and fast.

Everything is at your fingertips and available now, when we know these machines are well taf speed of the idea (or almost).

SOUNDS

"The effects are they effective and responsive?
The expression is good? (Reaction velocity, aftertouch)?
What are the sounds you prefer, you hate? ... "

The effects available as an option are not of great quality.

The pads are very nice to use. To enter drums is ideal to play a mozart it may be tense.

I think the sound is rather neutral unlike the legend. In contrast, the dynamics are excellent, filters give some grain and a beat made on MPC recognizes quite easily.

OVERALL OPINION

"How long have you use it?
What is the particular feature you like best and least?
Have you tried many other models before buying it?
How would you rate the quality / price?
With experience, you do again this choice? ... "

It is a machine that I sold for a XL which offers more possibilities. Since I had the 500, 2500, 5000 and recently the Renaissance.

Storage possibilities of the time require a lot of discipline not to lose hope for his frequent samples and other prod well underway.

If ... we have to be why not keep it. This is an obsolete model today but still interesting for its groove and workflow of an MPC most recent default.
