Mcqueens « Not bad, if you do not expect a gibson »
Published on 01/02/13 at 18:46I bought this guitar at the gibson day in Lille, my eyes were popping when I saw this Epiphone at that price, and myself being a fan of Angus Young.
This is a bass guitar line, do not expect something exceptional:
- Bolt mahogany
- Alder body (check)
- Kill one pot pretty funny when used ^ ^
MECHANICAL CHANGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!
UTILIZATION
The handle is not unpleasant to my taste, certainly there are better but I have not noticed any discomfort when I play even shred.
access to acute ... is by definition an SG access to acute par excellence! : P
Weight: it is a very light guitar, really light, especially when you have the habit of a good Les Paul pulls us down the shoulder after 3 hours of snooze it ^ ^ pic of the nose, not very useful when you want to rest our left hand, but a guitar is supposed to play with two hands (at least the major part of the time ^ ^)
For good sound typical of SG: everything should be thoroughly! : P both knobs fully this guitar course is not accurate, but it gives her! mind games with her knobs it is useless
SOUNDS
Are they suitable for your style of music?
I'm plugged blues / hard rock, a good AC / DC on a good distortion, or a good solo Santana faces a rhythmic blues that tells us so much!
What I like about this Epiphone is that we feel its presence when playing in a group. It is very aggressive! With a good amp (I use a vox Valvetronix personal) she is not shy! But do not know it, if you want a clear, precise forget it.
I personally had a Gibson SG Special, I'm currently using a Gibson Les Paul and the rhythm for a good hard rock, where what you want to hear is the sound of the windows vibrate.
If I have to compare it to the Gibson SG Special, found comfort playing Gibson (after some adjustments to the string height ^ ^), but not the sound.
If I have to compare it with respect to its price and competitors, I throw myself on it blindfolded.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for a month, I keep her for his aggressive and dynamic. But do not expect miracles, it is only 150 euros! for that price I think it is really not bad, you can not expect better for SG! on the other hand, if I should redo this purchase with the experience, I'd at least my cheapskate and I would take a higher range, the style of the Epiphone G 400. But it is in the context of 150 euros ^ ^
