Published on 06/26/01 at 15:00I got this guitar from a guitar guru/technician I know, he makes his own guitars and sells them to people he knows from word of mouth. He's one of the coolest people I've got to know, he's really interesting. I paid 400 pounds for it...an absolute steal!
Gibson have hit the right spot with the S.G- by producing a great alternative to the common Les Paul and Stratocaster. The neck is smooth and the frets beefy and easy to slide on. It feels silky smooth and the guitar sounds fantastic, it's equipped with Super Humbucking Pickups which makes it very versatile in nearly all departments, I love it
There's nothing I don't like about it, apart from it's not a Les Paul, i still like them alot.
The quality will only improve as it gets older and mine has the single scratchplate which is more sought after. The construction is absolutely flawless, i really can't find anything wrong with this guitar.
Buy one! If for the looks only, the sound is a treat and the guitar just screams to be played. It's going to be a long term investment for me
