Epiphone Worn G-400 (Faded G-400)

The SG "G-400" of Epiphone is made in China. It has 22 frets and humbucker typical configuration (I do not know the exact model but it seems to me that the "classic" of Epiphone.) Is full of mahogany, except the key well understood, which is rosewood . The handle is sticking and is very nice, mechanical grooving and takes pretty good agreement. attention should be noted that the nut is plastic (and badly cut ...) The guitar is known for having an excellent violin.

UTILIZATION

good, like all Sg, it is lightweight, Access to acute is nikel and slumps, or a used Foix we quickly forget that little detail. (It's on when we move from the LP has a SG, you soon feel the difference! Reverse works too ...) Now that I'm getting used to the SG I have a little trouble with the LP-type guitar. I better get a move on stage or in my room with a SG than a LP. much more manageable for my taste!

SOUNDS

Well it's a SG, the sound is bold and aggressive! small flat, ormis a great violin, electronics is crap. So think a change the pickups and electronics in the future, this guitar really deserves it! (The nut is pretty crappy too, it's plastoch 'and badly cut, so not great for holding agree ... think a change )

OVERALL OPINION

Well, I use since February 2013, and I'm pretty happy, I plan to change the pickups, the nut and the electronics in the future. after that, the guitar is worthy of a gibson of entry-level! I love the graining of wood, which I find is more visible with faded paint! good, pretty good value for money, I highly recommend this guitar!

For anything important characteristics which has a mahogany body like a Les Paul ... The material is the road, it's solid

UTILIZATION

The neck is like Gibson: big and comfortable, I emphasize what is very very light, I do not have the weight, but for a guitar, it is very light. Access to acute is not bad Uais peus barely better (and I mean barely). And most importantly, the sound ... with ease even the guitar above range could compete with this guitar, the sound is not disappointing for the price, even guitars for 100euros more did not sound warm like this. I have 4 years and I'm still am not tired ...

SOUNDS

I play rock, metal, funk, blues etc ... and going very well after it is alot of detail ... I used the high-pitched sound good rock (pitch down) and for solo bass sound (pitch up) and the sound is niquel

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4.5 years, I have already tried other models and I can say I'm not disappointed about a remake that choice, quality very good price.

Finishes very correct, mine, and I tested store-bought, was perfectly finished.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play. Neither too flat nor too thick, the junction body / neck is very well done, and is accessed easily in the last box.
The frets are like on my Gibson and not too high, super-comfortable.
The mail is correct, but to watch ... I had to tighten the input jack after 3 days. The thread I did not look very solid.

Ergonomics side, its just sitting top as we play. The game is virtually impossible as long standing guitar slumps.

Frankly stunning. Sound blues, hard rock and heavy excellent. It's warm, full, round, smooth. You can play with many nuances.

The pickups are really good for the price. Surely those are not Gibson originals but they have a very good record.
They sound a little more muffled than Gibson, but we manage to offset rising slightly treble on the amp.
on the other hand, it has a little trouble with the large distortions. it tends to blow and be rough.

I play with a Boss GT8 headphones or so with a Marshall JCM2000 combo in a 2x12 + 2x12 celestion v30 in, and frankly, in both, it sounds that little.
Very pleasantly surprised.

OVERALL OPINION

I have only been two weeks. For now I am fully satisfied.
I'll come edit my post if ever I think is changing.

I tested some guitars before making my choice. Initially I had gone to take a SG 60 'tribute. yeah, it does not convince me.
Then I tested the SG'61 reissue, extra, then just after it. I was amazed by the resemblance of the guitar (almost identical, and I love the 61) and also by sound. For 10/15% of the price, there is a guitar that mimics the sg61 superbly.
I then tested the Epiphone LP standard, custom and prophecy ... I have not really liked, it was not what I wanted, and it did not compare with my LP Standard.
So I picked up this little G400 in hand, plugged into another amp, and wahhhh I buy!

I only play with me, and it is for now a super nice surprise.

I wanted a guitar every day, in order to make my lines a little and have fun. It is perfect for this. And for relaxation too!

Very good choice, unbeatable value for money. I even hesitate to buy me a second to mount microphones mordants more ...
