Right for your style of music?

Alone, absolutely not. He has an excellent clean channel, but the problem is boosted channel .. Daub wish. That said, with a good boss pedal to the metal in clean channel, there is nothing better.

I could play with a ibanez and dean GRG170DX LH LH Vx, all with a boss pedal, I am delighted

I use it for over a year now, and I feel that I will keep for quite some time to come. My favorite is when even his home is super clean channel. Just plug a pedal on it, and you can play absolutely anything you want ...

A good choice

I play post rock, my guitar is a guild of 79 nd 60 with Di Marzio of the era and I like her very sharp and acute dsagreable it without being moved (the four 3 thank you bands of the Danelectro), after the high mids are smooth I find, For the price I think we have a very powerful amp and clear sound that holds the road well, as we play a lot I notice also that is very strong and the weight is reasonable, being neither a fan of blues scales and his hot guitar (I prefer the sounds of groups like A Certain Ratio, Joy Division, Cure and Gang of Four) this amp suits me well even though I think inverstir a roland jazz chorus one of these four

The settings are simple and effective enough that unless the volumes are quite sensitive

SOUNDS

While it is recognized well clear sound slamming, we like it or not and lowering acute and mid erase it reach a little "plop" when you attack the strings well

It's been 6 months I play it.
What I like: a price / power unbeatable
Saturation of fun and not as messy one might think.
My advice if you have a limited budget and you avezbesoin power take leave to use an external preamp. I recently made the choice of a boss gt 10 amp direct puissance.Je takes the saturation of the preamp thanks to the effects loop for the rhythm of the boss saturated and that makes it really well.
(Of course it is not a tube amp and I think it's one default)
because the fan was not very clear sound I let the boss lle create his own and he also serves as master volumle.

Over time I finished up not really use it. A further deception is that the amp may well have a 2x12 .... it's mono.


Since there is no longer guaranteed, I think make the change of the century: I put the cot portion amp and I stick a stereo power amp instead. (And if by chance I did not ca .... I resell for any resinstaller and the beast)

OVERALL OPINION

Simple to use, powerful (I'm not Exceeds 2 volumes), good clear sound, a saturated medium but sufficient in the style jou.

UTILIZATION

Trs simple configuration in clear, one branch, we play it sounds. The trs qualisation walk well and is easy to configure, not making head.

SOUNDS

The plot thickens ca. A good clean sound for a transistor, that sounds good fender. I play with a strat USD and is frankly not bad.
In distortion, by the cons, it's hard to have a good sound ... The Drive channel is acceptable, we can have a little crunch not too bad, but the drive is more unbearable, screaming sound and breath standard. The button "mid contour" allows for more saturation of heavy metal, but it still blowing pretty ...

In short, do not use a distortion, use instead of pedals on the clean sound. I use a Big Muff and Hardwire tube overdrive, it sounds pretty good on the clean channel.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for close to one year. Trs powerful and affordable, perfect for group play concerts and make a budget.
Namoins, I'm not sure I would do this choice with the exprience, even dbourserun little more to buy any lamps, the quality is of the same incomparable.

This amp has served me a record, in its complete my album BACK TO BLUES reu that a home that is conducive to professional criticism, so I'm tonn some opinions on this amp dposs , for my part I find it excellent, I play it with a Fender Stratocaster and the 1983 US Fender Squier reissue'51 (I take this opportunity to say who has a guitar Whereas age is 25 an instrument that only the rotten musician transcends the instrument to see him .. a ..) The Fender Frontman 212 R is a guitar combo amplifier on the low end of the spectrum for Fender amps. In fact, it's one of the cheapest 2 x 12 combo amps that you'll find. This is a solid state amplifier, putting out 100 watts into 4 ohms. It has two 1/4" inputs and other 1/4" connections for a foot switch (which I think is included), and preamp out and power input.

UTILIZATION

The Fender Frontman 212 R has two channels and includes built in distortion and reverb. The first channel is simple, with only knobs for volume, treble, mid, and bass, while the second channel has the same plus a drive parameter. It also has a channel select button (also controllable with the foot switch), a 'more drive' feature, and a mid contour button as well. Lastly, on the far right there's a reverb knob. I've never seen a manual for the Fender Frontman 212 R.

SOUNDS

The sound of the Fender Frontman 212 R is pretty average overall. The clean sound is okay, although very solid state sounding and not warm like tube amp. It will definitely get the job done for practicing and gigging for beginners. However, the distortion on here is pretty much unusable and it's super tinny. The reverb is nice to have but again isn't the best of it's kind. It sounds okay for the price, but will never stand up to most other Fender amplifiers.

OVERALL OPINION

The Fender Frontman 212 R is a good amp for those who are just starting to play guitar but want a semi-decent amp without spending too much. I'd still probably recommend going with something smaller if you're just starting out, but if you insist that you need a bigger amp for gigging and still can't pay more than a few hundred bucks, the Frontman 212 R should suit you. If you're looking for an amp built to last, this isn't it, but it is super cheap and worth checking out for those looking for their first 2x12 amp.

The all black version of the Fender frontman which is only cosmetically different then the silverface once from Fender that you would normally see. Same lame features of terrible sounding solid state tone.

What is this amp....is what I'm thinking when I first glance at it? It looks very deceiving because it looks like a Fender Twin or something but it doesn't have any tube and it's not an amp modeling even though it is priced at that price point. If you see this thing at yard sale beware because you might think you're looking at a Twin Reverb but you come to find out it is some solid state two speaker waste of time.

It has three channels that sound awful besides the clean channel. The clean sounds decent but god lord this amp is terrible!!

NO tonal change between this amp and the terrible sounding silverface edition. This thing is so bad I am actually embarrassed to have listened to it. It sounds horrible with any guitar and and effect pedal you put through it. It takes pedals extremely bad and guitar sound like your playing hasn't improved since you first picked up a dusty acoustic guitar.

This amp...I'm sorry is just garbage. I am not sure what the point is for this amp. I have been trying to wrap my head around why Fender would market this product and I can't come to any conclusion. They have a Mustang series amps that are around the same price point and do amp modeling which sound far more superior if that's possible with an amp modeler to this thing.

At new they come in at around $300. Which to me is about $200 too much. I didn't give this an unusable rating since it does have a Fender clean tone, but if you want any amount of distortion then throw this thing off a roof and buy a Roland amp modeler or a Line 6. Who would I recommend this to...no one! Don't waste you time getting a Twin Reverb look a like solid state paper weight.

Not only do I think the tone of this amp is terrible but slapping a new tolex cover on it and calling it a Limited Edition is a bit much for a solid state amp. Same amp as the standard black Frontman, but just in a hideous red colored tolex. Same features and lousy tone as the original amp.

Compared with the configuration I think there is nothing easier, everything is super well written even in the record, the record is certainly a little thin but it is still full. Compared to getting a good sound, it's not win at least play in the clear, the saturation is a little "mess" ...

Playing a little more rock pop this amp suits me really! I currently use a guitar completely void of a guitar 25 years old! : P So it's clear that that side it does it well. Personally clear sound is really perfect, but it's not too distos its top ... Fender is the small ... damage because the power is there ..

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost 1 year [11 months exactly ...] And I'm unfortunately not try other amps, I was literally set on this amp that made me dream!
The +: - Its power 2x50W is not nothing!
- It's clear by Fender
- Its strength "physical"
- His good little distortion

- The constant blast playing
- By the reverb there is a "tock tock tock ... ... ...", it's heavy ...

Unfortunately I do not do it again this choice and I regret it, since about 1 month now my amp only works VERY poorly, there is a crackling noise and false saturation is horrible! I'm extremely disappointed ... But there is still a good value for money for beginners. And especially if it is only for non-theatrical and non-group ie use is restricted to your room, do not buy too many power play with the volume between 0 and 1 it is useless.

Very versatile amp!

In clean channel, its ability to have a very "dry" or very "bold", passing between the two.

In overdrive channel:
- Drive: the sound is rather cruchy, very good for the blues
- More drive: there's a harder, therefore good for playing styles from hard rock to black metal
(Of course, you can always ajustter Knob its sound with the "DRIVE")

Well, I use it almost always clean channel with a Boss DS-2, which makes it not too bad ^ ^

8 / 10 for sound because my concern is the power that this amp gives off (master volume on 2 and 3 repeat in concert, too powerful for my utilitée)

It is an open transistor combo of 100 Watts. Settings:

So there is the "mid contour" to change the sound, it makes a bit more rounded. This is very useful to have a distortion sound a little less dirty. There is also a spring reverb which is really excellent and very powerful. There is also a footswitch jack for use with two-button footswitch (channel + drive / more drive) that is provided, and an output "preamp out" and input "power in" for the use of an effects loop, recording, or chaining multiple amplifiers. The design is very successful, the design looks very strong ... No complaint on this point! <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="mrgreen" />

UTILIZATION

The setup is very simple: industry, we made some adjustments to tone and go! The manual does little to nothing ... <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="wink" /> It happens quite easily find its appropriate, it is a major advantage of this amp: it offers many possibilities of settings and can do almost any style (except maybe the big big metal .. .)

SOUNDS

I use a Cort G-250 and Behringer few effects (fuzz, wah-wah, delay).

Clean: The sound is really excellent, it is THE strong point of this amp, it is ideal for any style of music, such as blues and reggae through rock, etc.. Drive: Again it's good, I play mostly rock typed '70, sometimes psychedelic, occasionally things a bit more metal, and it sounds pretty good! Basically it's a little aggressive, but with the "mid contour" is reached very correct sounds without too much push the disto ...
More Drive: Here is a little less, we arrive at a distortion rather dirty, it's been a bit messy, especially if you push a little distortion (this is fairly typical of the series Frontman) but we will not s 'complain about it ... For a transistor amp it's still okay, especially considering the price!

Personally, it suits me perfectly for what I play ... it is very easy to use and yet I get my sound to work well in some states! I put 8 / 10 for the distortion a bit messy, but it's still okay, especially if there is a good branch distortion pedal!

I've had a few days ago, but I had the opportunity to try it before and I always worked with amps in this series, so I knew what to expect when I purchase. I particularly appreciate the ease of use and sound clean and drive (not too push the distortion) that I find amazing! Very versatile amp!!!

The clean channel can provide a "dry" or "fat" response.

Overdrive channel:
- drive: crunch sound, very good for blues
- more drive: good for hard rock and heavy metal

I use almost only the clean channel with a Boss DS-2 stomp box. The result is quite good ^^

8/10 because of the huge output power of the amp (master volume set to two for rehearsals and three for live gigs. Too much power for me)
Overall opinion 9/10
I've been using it for over one year. It's my first "big amp".
Very good value for money.
Based on my experience, I would buy another amp to discover something different.

This amp is a Fender Solid-State guitar amplifier. This amp has two inputs. There are three channels (clean, drive, more drive). The amp has built-in spring reverb, which is a master control (it applies to both channels). There is a simple, one-knob control for this reverb. There are seperate volume knobs and EQ knobs for each channel (the EQ is three-way, bass, middle, and treble). The drive channel also has a gain knob. There is a footswitch capability as well.

UTILIZATION

The more drive channel of this amp is really just a boost for the drive channel. It is good if you want to use it to boost solos or leads, as it is louder and has a little more fuzz on it. This helps a lot and is useful, but unfortunately, there aren't many other useful things about this amp. For one, it has a typical solid-state problem of not providing any natural distortion. Also, the EQ controls are pretty weak, and they don't go very far at all in shaping the tone. Thus the guitar has very little variation in tones. If you aren't extremely happy with the tone you've got, this amp is going to be tough to get a good sound out of.

SOUNDS

I have tried this amp with a couple different guitars. I like it best with my Strat and my Tele, but I wouldn't say that any guitar sounded particularly good with it. I didn't have particularly high expectations considering the price, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The clean tones are very precise, and don't color the sound at all. However, that's not a good thing, as I like to have a little bit of breakup in the sound. A true clean channel isn't interesting for those of us who play blues, rock, or other similar styles, unless they want to sound really tame. The drive channel is likewise pretty weak. It will certainly inspire those of us who play more light, smooth music, though. One of the benefits is that there is almost no noise with this amp, so if noise drives you crazy, this might be something to look into.

OVERALL OPINION

The price of this amp is without a doubt its salient feature. It's not that great sounding of an amp, but who expects it to be at 300 dollars? I don't regret having it, if one of my amps were to die or something, and I needed a quick replacement, I'd use this, but I don't think I'd ever prefer it to a tube amp.
