UTILIZATION

Very easy to use, adjustable quick well done.

SOUNDS

I use it with a les paul standard, and I liked the crunch to the good old rock, but the sound distortion was a bit too flat for my taste but still more than correct. Parcontre for recording studio, there was obtained a sound which we had many wondering if a guitar or other thing bizzard! (Solos sounded very nazillard)

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for 4 years and have sold me a JCM900 (yes, tube amp when you hold us!)
I liked all three channels but the distortion that made me change.
However, the value for money is great, hard to find a hybrid amp today.
I would do if the choice to play beginners because I was loved so much is repeated or Sufis, but now it is rather "lightweight" for the stage.

Hughes and Kettner have some of the best sounding amplifiers on the planet. This a German company who designs high quality guitar amps for touring musicians and the average consumer. They guitar amps that range from just a few hundred dollars to several thousand. This amp is their solid state amp that is marketed towards the budgeted consumer who needs a good sounding amp but doesn't have the funds for a tube amp.

SOUNDS

This is a four channel amp that has a clean, crunch, lead, and the ultra lead channel. This amp is not a modeling amp or any kinds so you won't hear them try to pull off a Vox tone or a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier tone of any kind. This is an amp that has the Hughes and Kettner tone for all four channels.

If you want a decent clean channel then there is a good one locate don this amp. The crunch tone is a nice sweet light crunch that has the capability of produces some great classic rock tones. The lead channel is much like the other lead channels form other Hughes and Kettner tube amps. You get a silky smooth lead tone that is also good fro thick chunky rhythm tones as well. The ultra lea is more gain that you can handle. This channel features so much gain that you will never need a boost pedal or anything else to boost. It s an over the top gain channel.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come in right at around $500. They are harder to find than other Hughes and Kettner amps but they can be located if you look hard enough. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good amp and can't spend the money on a tube amp. They are decent sounding for a solid state operation and will produced a wealth of tones form these four completely different channels.

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple: you turn the knobs and it sounds!



SOUNDS

I play a lot of metal (Metallica, BFMV, ...).

With the neck pickup, the sound is clear and very warm round.
With the bridge pickup, the sound is crystal clear and slams.

Distortion in this amp is well suited for hard rock, metal but lack of gain for the death or the more modern sounds.

I played this amp with a Start copy and I loved the sound.
Since I play a Epiphone Les Paul and there, nothing to see! The sound is stronger with better sustain.

I branch a few times a multi-purpose X-Vamp for wha or other effects and the sound is very good.



OVERALL OPINION

I use for 1 month and I love it!

I did not try other models before it.

What I like most: - Sound!
-The ease of use.
-The value for money.

What I like least: - The weight! This amp is heavy veeeeeery! The transport is not easy at all even with wheels.

I bought this amp used at 75 €!
If I should redo this choice, I would do it with eyes closed =)
