1990 model, purchased used from a musician. Still own it. It was my third ever amplifier. I use a Gibson guitar with it and manage to play most styles of music. The product build is solid and feels high quality. It is a solid state amp with 12W of power, 10" Celestion speaker, two inputs, and a headphone/line output. Apparently featured on ZZ Top's recording of "My Head's In Mississippi." Mine has a reverb function as well. It's the ultimate blues-rock practice amp and I will not get rid of it unless I have to. Works for practice, recording and live playing.

Sound — 9
Suits my blues and classic rock style great, the sound is so full and unmistakeable. I don't use any effects with it and just crank up the gain a little when playing AC/DC, Hendrix, etc. It's not a noisy amp at all. You can get a wide variety of sounds. You get plexi-JMP-JCM800 tones from this tiny amplifier, it's insane. Everything from jazz to metal on this thing. I haven't heard anything it can't do. The headphone sound is amazing too, much better than some similar amps. If you like Marshall tones, go for it!

Reliability & Durability — 8
I would 100% use this as a main live amplifier, and for rehearsals and home practice. Reason being the sound quality is amazing (see previous comments). Durability is fine. It's dependable and looks very cool, a classic look. Portability is a huge plus, the amp is quite lightweight so you can carry it around easily. It's a standard rehearsal / practice amp that will last you a good couple of years when you first start playing, especially if you like classic rock, and much more down the line if you are looking to play with more experienced people.

Overall Impression — 9
The Marshall Lead Combo feels much more expensive that it is. Armed with that signature Marshall sound, it’s incredibly loud, so you will find yourself often turning it down when practicing at home. It’s the perfect rehearsal amp, and you could even play small gigs with it. The headphone plug and line out are very useful. There isn’t much more to the amp other than it absolutely delivers that tone most rockers will be looking for, at an affordable price. It small size is also a plus. With a reliable build and great tones, it’s in many ways a perfect Swiss army knife and a huge step above the cheaper MG range from Marshall.

SOUNDS

I found a trash electrical outlet ... to cut it back to life 2euro + a shot "Kontakt 60" in the knobs.

I was just in a corner looking more psychedelic sounds and tap my foot a little, he prepared very well in the game I still fan lamps, but for a transistor amp it leaves a very distinctive sound and "spatial ".

The open back provides a more distributed in space sound less directional than a closed box. The sound is also more "loudness / treble" or my other combo box. I use it mainly in HiGain but clean sound from my pedal and I put almost all the time a compressor in order to avoid saturating the transistors.

I play with Gibson Lp Florentine Epi LP, Fender Am Special. CryBaby wah pedal Fasle, Vox stomb labIIG.

I like its clean sound and low diffuse more "loudness". I do not like the cruncher, it saturates dishamoniquement too fast. End of the race and gain a breath of crazy flight arrives before a shame because the sound is clean.

OVERALL OPINION

2/3 months of use, it became my amp room.

I found on a garbage can. I have a Vox AC4TV + cabinet, a head egnater all in full 15w lamps. Marshall is a little gift from the universe Fun to work other sounds

+ Easy to play low volumes and diffuse well in the room. Sound neutral to use the pedals. Its nice the open back. Very good speaker.

12w tube amp with a nice bowl celestion 12 inch inside.
3-band EQ very effective gain and volume.
Two entrances, one High and Low, which makes the crunch more or less easily, and also affects the overall volume.
We also have a line output, the classical sum.
Most have been a reverb, but I quibble for nothing as it is already very good.
Nice facade with pretty buttons.

UTILIZATION

Very simple to use who knows an amp, the settings are minimal, just enough for an amp of study.
The grain is gradual at first and rises suddenly limit, sending it severe blow, but it is accompanied by a breath quite annoying, but not insurmountable, it is quite normal with such a level of gain, especially since I played with a telecaster (microphones so simple).
The amp tends to be very "trebly", makes you care to drop it in general, especially as it can be very high to the point of pain!
Otherwise, we easily obtain a plethora of sounds potable hot and well, it all approach lights, but over time you realize that it is the transistor.
Apart from that I like the sound enough gain separate volume allows for a clean sound at high volume advantage by transistors against you will not find in a Marshall Class 5 for example, or the rise in volume is automatically accompanied by a rise in gain.

SOUNDS

So I am not someone who plays a lot of styles, with a strong tendency towards solos.
As discussed above, high gain it tends towards the distortion without really being, it should be accompanied by a pedal history to reach the high-gain some want.
For blues and rock on the other hand, nothing to say, it is very good.
It has a lot of volume elsewhere, especially with the gain above half, enough to compete with a drummer too muscular.
I also never use double coils, the sound is very good, very hot and you can feel the character of each guitar that branch there.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a little over a year now, I got not too expensive, I tried Hughes & kettner edition blue that totally sucked the TWANG of my guitar, no heat and more trebly (it there is bad), if I had a fender champion 600, but the lack of equalization makes it unusable because it offers a very dull with my telecaster. The Marshall is the middle, although I always look on the side of tubes All rehearsals and concerts pub or club.
So yes I remake this choice, for 110 euros is excellent, especially that a priori it does not run the streets.

I bought this marshall at a store called music-go-round for $89.99 because my little practice just wasnt enough so i played on it for a few and it was awesome so i traded my cheap amp in and got it

I like the fact that it a kinda small amp and it has killer sound you can get that heavy metal sound or crunch it gets very loud for having only 12 watts

The only thing bad about this amp is the hard carrying handle and it weighs about 15-20lbs

this is a very strong amp i usually sit on it when i am playing. And i dropped one time and nothing evenm happened i was glad it is so tough.

Overall this amp kicks a$$ i would recommend it any who doesnt already have it

I baught this amp second hand out of the local paper for just £40 ! i purchased it because i didnt have an amp and i thaught this was a bargain for a marshall !

I have a danalectro reissue 56-u2 and it sounds great with this amp ! It is very loud and stays clear even at full blast . It also looks ace !

I haven`t realy found anything that i dont like about it apart from the fact that it is hard to carry because the handle is hard !

For the price i purchased it for it is a wonderful amp its great quality and is very robust . It has 5 knobs ; gain, volume, middle, treble and bass.

I love this amp and recomend it to any body starting the lead guitar !!!! it is perfect

Or la la la! Yum, what a sound. I changed the original HP which is not terrible at all by a greenback celestion Vintage 10. After lapping and change, what's crazy. All background, waaaa, burst up really, it's strong and beautiful. The clean sound is very very good. You really sound vintage ACDC.
This amp is great. I plug a Marshall bluesbreker 2, my carbon copy delay, and I have a hell of her. Yes, this amp is compatible with all types of pedals.

OVERALL OPINION

I love it. For 100 euros, I do not regret. No need to heat or to blow up my 2061x, I turn, I play, I am his.
If you find one, you throw it, and keep it. This amp is amazing.

UTILIZATION

While setting up this amp is that simple!
The only problem is that mine is in my first, and this amp has more 20 years, so the knobs once the trs are not useful because mine do not work anymore gain from volume and bass .

SOUNDS

This amp should have totally my style of music, from 60s rock like Hendrix and Cream in the 70s rock Led Zeppelin or whatever, sounds and other types of AC / DC or other ...
with the gain knob on the bottom of a carrment fuzz! I tell you this amp has all the 60s-70s in the belly!
on the other hand, for its clear sound uh what? Claire? J'connais not? What is it?

This is the series transistor jcm 800. It was published in 1984 to 91, mine in 1986.

UTILIZATION

To use is really simple, it connects and makes fart!

We get easily a good overdrive up to the beautiful distortion.

SOUNDS

I use a gibson SG faded.

When I received it (found in England), and I connected I hallucinated. Simply.

For sounds clear, it is a color "noise" if you have ever tried by a boss ac2 ewemple's pretty close depending on the settings! It is rather odd and rather pleasant!

on the other hand when you start to saturate do! We immediately recognized the sound Marshall, fairly dry, sharp. The texture is airy, clean!

In high, the sound will tend to be more aggressive with acute that can quickly become invasive. It then delivers more gain and volume it sounds much dirtier, I am less enthusiastic one falls easily in the transistor. Especially acute.

In low, it's that I prefer it gives its full potential! I like to push the medium and reduce the treble (which, incidentally, are too garish spent half).

OVERALL OPINION

Marshall and I it's been years. I can judge it fairly quickly, knowing well the grain of the brand.

I had previously quastion transistor, a Valvestate, which in my recollection, did not sound so this little monster of rock ..

What I love is the easy side of things, not waiting for the heat lamps, small, easily transportable short:

No need for effects or anything, you want to play right away? thee 5 min before going to work? boom!

For 30 euros a time whether to do it again I would think no two days the risk of missing the auction as I did.

If I fall back on a model in mini stack and I how I think I bought it on just to try ...
