Nice little practice amp!
Published on 01/31/12 at 11:07Controls: 3-band EQ, switchable overdrive, master volume

Orange! The original loud guitar huge amp company from the 70s is back in full force now, with a much larger array of products. This Crush PiX amp is a neat little 20 watt powerhouse. It is very easy to plug in and get a good sound from it, and it is a lot louder than the 20 solid state watts would suggest! I love how amp companies now are offering inputs for auxillary devices like MP3 players and iPods, and this Orange is no exception. SOUNDS
This amp rages! It gets a very nice modern hi-gain sound for the size - it is full of saturation, yet still clear. The clean is decent - nothing to write home about, but still good. And the effects aren't bad! The reverb and delay are especially good for something like this. I'm not a big fan of chorus or tremolo in general, unless they are just super high-quality, which these aren't. But it's enough variety of sounds to keep the average kid busy playing around with the knobs, which keeps the guitar in their hands! That's a good thing!
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, this is a good choice in a cool practice amp. This gets louder than comparable models from Line 6 or Fender, and it has a much nicer look. However, that look does come with a price premium - some people might think it is worth it. It certainly is a great look, and I love that they offer it in both orange and black models now. This amp is not that much more expensive than its closest competitors, and it offers a great tone and must-have features, so it's worth checking out. Recommended.See less10 - ricoute

So very complete and versatile equipment issue, at most we may regret not making footwitch like the cr35ldx, but it is not necessary to see Who is the CR20, rather to repeat at home!
Selection of a knob 16 effects vary with the volume knob of the effect
So oddly, not really a button or other start-up effect, the fact of leaving the volume knob of the mini effect then "0" implies that there is no action to Indeed!

UTILIZATION
very progressive power early in the race of the knob, powerful enough to operate in a difficult home environment as apart despite the 20w but not have to push a lot for the optimized (in contrast to amp 'tube)!
the manual simply explain the functionality of normal, if we used the traditional setting of a amp, no need to consult.
a very fine grain typed Orange (somewhat resembling those soft and light without the heat anyway)
in short, good for a transistor, a body linked to the lack of hp 8 '
allows the gain to the bottom on one side a little bit crunchy
the fully actuated overdrive is added again to the brilliance and saturation well not hard rock / metal anyway!
I think there's a bit of a gap between the gain made fully and fairly gradual rather overdrive from 7 / 8.
We can still have a beautiful pallette of sounds between corrections and the coupling tone and overdrive gain always with a grain common typed !!!!.
Grain and its delighted me at first, less then a little less then caused by the HP 8-inch "IRONMONGER" a little ... and gives an effect very slightly nasal Finally medium!!
SOUNDS
Overall this amp suited my style rock.
The sound is rather bold and clear weather and e nEven crisallin, it seems can be a bit contradictory, but true!
I played with a stratovolcano Southwestern CP60 with good results but one made a little uneven depending on the position of the selector microphones.
the effects, rather troubleshooting or not very good 3 / 4 rather poor with a looping invariably doing almost anything, but it helps out, it's true that I compare to my arsenal of the vox then of course !!!!!
I saw the possibilities of settings such as the Vox Valvetronix
least in effect!
I found the HP quite directive, it is enough to orient itself, which is not a problem given the size
OVERALL OPINION
I have used 3 / 4 times
I tried the mustang fender 20w, very gadget simultaneously with some very very so so, with an arsenal of usb option, and the effects too .... but it appeared to me much worse in that his orange ....
The particularity and its disadvantage: a very distinctive sound that can not please everyone, but in the very spirit of the brand anyway!!
Other default settings ds certain positions, improve ... or degrade the sound, I had come to start building a set of defined settings ...
I suspect these have ds a kind of electronic circuits delay line, showing a more flattering bcp's which should normally be, with greater sustain (a species of micro-reverb) that embellishes the sound (even excluding the effect Inrush !) and extinction of a note a little longer but not very credible in listen more closely!!
The R / Q / P / is still very good but to listen before you buy.
Nb: I have done between the headphone jack on the left and the guitar input jack right on the strip, if you make a mistake, you plug the guitar on the headphones and nothing nothing ... and I'm not the only one who thought it was dumb then down, then it was not the case!
I am more in the context of all lamps in its harmonic richness, so I just say that it is a good choice in absolute terms, but does not suit me for my part ... vis-à-vis my requirements sound may be too high vis-à-vis this type of product necessarily limited, but with good potential for its class!
I think I have done well around the beast, and am available for other forumers possible assistance or information.See less52 - iksbe

The increase in gain is quite sensitive and can sound very nuanced
The effects are not all usable, in my opinion. They suffer mainly because they can not be altered except by a knob level. The reverbs and chorus are not bad at all, for cons. But the other is more troubleshooting when I do not feel like lugging my cross or connect with Guitar Rig me.

I'm more oriented prog rock and the sound suits me well.
On the clean channel, we obtain a more crystalline sound of the start of the race of winning. By pushing a little, but it is good crunch lacks a bit of body to my liking. The channel is correct and the saturated gain fulfilled its role to qualify the sound. It is clear that for large saturation, it does not compete with my Marshall tube metal and death will be disappointed with this combo
OVERALL OPINION
I bought a year ago. I needed an amp for my more mobile during my CWY. The small weight and the tuner is a plus for this purpose.
I tried a lot of small amps before choosing: Frontman, Kustom, Roland Cube, H & K ... but they did not so thrilled
The clean sound is really the strong point of this amp, with a purity disconcerting. Then he really mouth
The reverbs are nice but I almost never use the other effects.
It remains, in my opinion, one of the best quality / price ratio in its class and I highly recommend itSee less30 - iamqman
Nice amp for the price!
Published on 06/16/11 at 16:19These are full of tone and simple features. Orange in my opinion has really done an exceptional job at producing some of the best if not the best small solid state amps on the market.
This has has a natural tone that is very close to the tones you hear from other Orange amps that have tubes. The tone is full and though still thin as all solid states are, it still is able to sound great enough to record with and practice with a band.

SOUNDS
At 20 watts this little amp is able to produce some high volume riffing. The tone is remarkable for being a solid state amp. You can get some meaty tone or even some sparkly clean tones with easy.
I like Orange amps with a nice Gibson Les Paul. They have a nice chewy tone that is complimented well with a sweet mahogany guitar with humbucker pickups. It will sound fantastic with a Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster too, but I find they work best with a good solid guitar. Since it is solid state the single coils can get very thin and the tone is less desirable.
OVERALL OPINION
At new these amps come in at around $160, which is a steal of a price. You can get a whole lot anymore for less than $200. This amp is a stellar amp for practicing at home or in your office. It has the headphone jack to you can jam along quietly without disturbing anyone around you.
I would recommend this to anyone needing a good practice amp and doesn't want to break the bank to buy one. You really only need a guitar and a cable since it has a built in tuner. You can take this easily on the go.See less10
