«  Well »

Amp (70db) + Eq analog.
Chinese manufacturing equipment very correct.
XLR connectors (DI input on the front, good but not top-tip for that matter).
Rack-mount model.
All options for a preamp I believe are available:
- Gain up to 70db and +20 on the circuit line
- 48V
- Choice of impedance 300 / 1.2 K
- Phase inverter
- Choice between DI / XLR

Eq also quite complete:
- Low-cut from 50 to 300 Hz
- Adjusting the bass / mid / treble with varied choices of frequencies.

UTILIZATION

There's really no need for manual.
Good all the doc is in English, I ordered the states.
To the sounds you turn the knobs and listen what happens:)

SOUND QUALITY

Well this is clearly a device that moves towards the sound NEVE.
Me I did change the original transformers with transformers Carnhill. This is very good for the budget.
The preamp is quiet, you can push the gain without concern. I love the sound that emerges though - no mistake - if I wanted a REAL Neve sound, I took a Great River or Neve.

I wanted a preamp with EQ to get a complete analog channel quality.

Value for money is really good. The Eq is great music, silky and precise.
I have embellished or attenuate frequencies in a good way. It's really very different EQ plugins. The two complement each other. I confess that I should totally get one second for stereo tracks.

OVERALL OPINION

For 2 years it works great. This is my first real colored preamp. The Metric Halo ULN of them are great but very transparent.

All my votes go catch it. I would be very unhappy without him. The sound is what I expected. The transcients expressed and sparkle like the real Neve. After holding the overall sound is thinner than the real ones.

I am very contentt with my purchase again, but I do not compare with the big guns.
For my modest studio pro it is very suitable. If I can one day, slice Neve 8801 stereo:).
In the meantime, long live the Chameleon Lab and Golden Ages.
