Best value:
Excellent
I know Chandler products about 2 years, I have a LTD1 LTD2 and 2, I also had the TG1 ...
This is a brand that uses the heritage of the past, the suitable notice and in fact products of very good quality.
the Ltd1 is a 1U, low quality, including the chassis and the pots, but electronics (Neve) rerste the asset.
So here the sound is the only asset of LTD1
UTILIZATION
As I said, Chandler used it as a Preamp Eq, and it's functional, it just the buttons are not ergonomically designed toput, 1073 as a real jail and also as fragile as the aluminum.
SOUND QUALITY
As I said, Chandler and it sounds very, very hard, I did some comparison tests with a slice AMS-NEVE 1073 and reissued a Brent Averill 1073 and Chndler sounds identically, so no worries it's Neve in the sound.
Parcontre it does not sound like a Neve 1073 vintage and is the pure class A really makes the difference, but it's a detail as for 2500 euros Chandler has no equal.
The eq is great, we can see the genius of Rupert.
OVERALL OPINION
It all depends on what is expected of such a product, disappointing manufacturing, rejoicing under the sound quality, LTD1 comes down to making money on the back of brilliant inventor, but to offer this genie Low price is the same for all the preamp of the brand, they all ring of hell, but the production is mediocre because it was 2500 euros for a Liquid Channel Focusrite care and there is not one to make fun of people.
