Published on 03/01/13 at 03:42a transistor pre-amp with 60dB of gain for the gray version that is no longer produced.
s entry into xlr input jack back and front high Z.
Xlr output.
A knob trim from 0-10db. 48v selectablly course.
Not rackable.
UTILIZATION
Very easy to use.
I do not have the manual.
SOUND QUALITY
Pre-amp assumed to be transparent, that is certainly very good! very punchy, transients are well preserved, beautiful low precise, nothing aggressive and superb presence of what we put into it. Very well built and solid.
The kind of preamp still works and everything!
OVERALL OPINION
I've had it a year, I put the same level as my 676 and my telefunken UA6176. Even above which is a preamp UA610 soft enough that I reserve a bass, singing or suddenly bowed. Well over a joemeek, TLAudio or spl GoldMike mk2 for my taste.
The black version should be even more fun, especially for the ribbon! In any case, for the 380th secondhand, it is a big deal.
I can compare to the neve 1081 next week, we'll see how it performs against the best!
