Help,

I just bought a Tascam US-428. I just hooked it up with the drivers and tried to run it through Cool Edit Pro. When I play a song on Cool Edit and adjust the master and track 1 volume faders there is about 1.5 - 2 second lag response it the sound volume. My computer is halfway decent, P4, 256MB. I know there is supposed to be a lag with USB, but it shouldn't be this bad should it?

:(

As aslways with computers, when you solve a problem, there is another. The volume lag was actually a problem with Cool Edit Pro. When you adjust the volume of the faders with the mouse, there is a lag as well. Is this normal with all recording software or unique to CEP?

Not familiar w/CE pro, but youprobably ought to:

a) make sure your USB port is not sharing an IRQ and is set to run at a high a speed as it can be (BIOS)

b) Look around in CE Pro and see if there is a way to adjust the buffer size- smaller buffer= less latency
