Cort Garage 2 is made in Indonesia, I bought it in 2013.

The guitar comes in padded gig bag that I find good.

UTILIZATION

Paint and varnish finish is nickel. The guitar has a matte gray finish beautifully. Varnish the handle provides good glide. The edges of the frets are well finished. The guitar is very nice in hand.

Fittings
The tuners are nice, the guitar takes very, very good tuning.
At the bridge an obvious problem is immediately apparent: the screw height adjustment of the bridges beyond, they are a little sharp and cut into a little hand when playing palm mute. The only solution I had to get the 2 set screws on each bridge and pass a saw and lime before rising above it all.

The handle
The handle is asymmetric, it is thicker in the upper part than its lower part, the idea is to match the shape of the hand. I find it really comfortable handle, but try.

Access to acute is perfect for a bolt-on neck. The body of the guitar is beveled at the junction with the handle and the heel is very rounded.

The guitar is not set at the factory. Because I heard noise vibrations (not quite friezes), I took him to the luthier (Tom Marceau next to Rennes).
The diagnosis was inconclusive, the handle had a small bump and required comprehensive planning (expect about 100 € fee)
An initial planning was not enough and I had to go back to the luthier for a second comprehensive planning. The exit angle of the strings at the nut has been reworked with a blow to the strings of lime and if mi. The change in pulling the 10-52 has also done much good.

In the final round is nickel, the strings are low (1.8 mm for the low E and 1.5 mm for acute Mi at the 12th fret). There's just a little residual vibration pest problem on the G string. But for a guitar of this price, it is very satisfying.

And electronics now
At the end of the cover, when the first connection, we realize that the jack is not screwed tight, it moves. It is therefore necessary to unscrew the jack plate and put a little turn of the key.

The tone knob has a small hat transparent Plexiglas which allows to easily pull the microphone splitter.
In the split mode, the inclination of microphones and certainly the fact that the strings are not in front of the microphones that blocks on the neck pickup bass strings sound softer than the high strings, and that pickup, this are the high strings that sound softer. I personally find it a bit ironic. But the split mode in an intermediate position offers a good compromise.

The switch "Full force" allows to bypass the settings for volume, tone, split and microphone. By snapping you're on the bridge pickup with volume and tone background.
It allows you to play a little rhythm neck pickup without much gain and then easily send all the sauce bridge pickup without affecting the adjustment knobs. Of course you can do the same thing with a small distortion pedal must see the desired sound. But it is certain that the difference between a grain rhythm on 2 pickups split mode and the transition to solo on the bridge pickup in full strength, can not be easy to find with a stomp.
In short it offers opportunities, but it's not totally necessary. The only negative is that the little switch full force is placed between the two knobs that does not make it easily accessible.

Inside the beast:
Under the pickguard, three cavities cut more than just one for each pickup and one for electronics, impossible to replace the pickguard and put the microphones in the center of the strings without removing the router. (The idea had crossed my mind)
The volume knobs are tone 500k ohm and the condo is an Orange Drop, inside the cavity is clean, the welds are beautiful, there is a shield on the pickguard above the cavity of electronics.

SOUNDS

His side, I appreciate the detailed bass and his well rounded side handle. On the bridge pickup sound can be sharp, making a beautiful definition, harmonic sound alone. The pickups offer a nice grain and a good balance.

Split by the sound sounds more shiny, pretty fenderien



OVERALL OPINION

Do I redeem this guitar? Well my guitar is now fully resolved and sounds parfaitement.On can even say that now is a killer!

But given the small problems with the purchase (screw bridge, planning frets), I tell myself that the Indonesian finishing it is not necessarily that. And it would be an opportunity to go upmarket, right?

UTILIZATION

Handle very nice and easy access to the frets at the bottom of sleeve. Guitar very light and well balanced. The sound is pure strat (bright) as the string action which is very satisfactory.
The sustain is very good, rope traversing force ...

SOUNDS

This shovel change my EVL Z6 is intended for metal. The pulling of the scraper being mounted in 09-42, the bends are easy and enjoyable. The sound it gives me on my Randall KH75 whether clean or saturated is tops. The pickups are powerful Matthias Jab except when the splittent (then we lose a lot of power and this will certainly mount them through ...)

OVERALL OPINION

After a few adjustments and a change of new ropes (Cort could provide guitars with strings a little better, the oxidized or rusted Dadarrio ... super ...)
I would do without hesitation that choice, especially considering the price (495 € uros Thomann) that I paid (since it took 100 € uros (for once I have the bowl!!

UTILIZATION

The handle is very pleasing, slid himself and finish is flawless frets (it's not always the case on guitars cheap)
CASC is impeccable high notes

SOUNDS

I tried this guitar with a 5150 III head coupled to a boss gt 8
the pickups sound pretty strata, which has nothing on a thundering Matthias Jabs Signature
the sound clarity is very good on the other hand in a saturated missing some teeth


OVERALL OPINION

A good guitar with a good quality price (when you know the price of its Dommenget)
guitar quite versatile in mind jabs
this guitar is available with a single microphone for 100 more but I think it's best microphones for both the sound palette is very broad

I put 8 because even if a signature, some dtail reminds us that it is an average range (unmarked: Mechanical, volume not quite progressive saturated)
