Fender Standard Strat
Published on 01/12/02 at 15:00I got this guitar because a couple of my favorite guitarists used it. I bought it from musicians friend and paid $300
I really like the neck. The neck is finished just enough to shine, but still let your fingers fly around without getting that stick on the glossy necks. The look of it is cool, I like the bridge, I like almost all of it.
I didnt like the cheesy look of it when I first bought it. I got black with maple fingerboard. The pickguard was pure white, and it looked really ugly and dumb. I put black knobs and black pickup shells on it and replaced the bridge pickup with a seymour duncan JB jr. It sounds really cool, especially if you like that downstrum-Ramones type sound.

It stays in tune through anything. My string strip very frequently at the bridge though. It is better (In my opinion) than American Strats.
I would very much suggest buying this guitar.

Published on 12/18/01 at 15:00I bought this guitar at Mars music. I got it because i wanted an electric and only had an acoustic. I paid about $300 for a pack that came with an 15 watt amp, guitar, gig bag, strings, picks, video, and strap.
It's not too expensive.i also like that it sounds decent for the price.
There is a lot of faults with this guitar though. One is it the indides fall apart. I have to keep ajusting crap. have to tune it like 8 times in a row. Scratches very easily. Doesnt have a lot of power. And just isnt a good guitar after you have about 9 months experience playing guitar.
Cheapliy made and not put together real well.

Getting a good sound with this obviousness is a MODEL, provided you love the sound strat. But then the one is used.
SOUNDS
I do not know if my pickups are amricains, Mexican or otherwise, but the fact is they sound exceptionally well. Biting clarity, smooth agressivit, they know everything and fits all types of music. I could try it on the marshall, mesa boogie, peavey, carvin, roland, and even on little itty bitty amp all, she always sounded exceptional fawn. The casseroles funky, bluesy riffs, sounds clear, warm and distortions are powerchords privilgis Obviously, but there is no problem to get more jazzy sounds, softer, rounder. It's all about rglage. Bon Obviously, if you are a fan of the SG / Marshall lamps, it is impossible to obtain without dnaturer the sound of the guitar, which would be a bit bte. But versatility is the quality and always.

Access in acute: Yeah, not bad, nothing more. This is not an Ibanez for crazy suprieures octaves.
Sound, so it's easy to find, at least if one seeks the Start sound (see more)
Its default?
- On my Start, you can not rgler tilt.
- Conducting random image agreement if the tortures vibrato.
- Hum and buzz for microphones (excluding combinations) ds we approach an amp lamp, a halogne, a no, a notch of tl or computer. Yeah, to do with: the ranon sound for this type of microphones.
Its quality?
- Comfortable
- Can be almost anything rgler: the height of the frets, the hollow of the neck, the tuning fork, a reminder of spring. everything is the door through a scratch like me. Thank you Leo.
- You can almost change everything. This is a kit that can modify all or part (microphones, run, hide, plate, mechanical, body etc ...). It is also scratch through the door. Again, thank you Leo.
.
SOUNDS
be a trs's my style of music I play blues and has not nerv, Fender is cooool.
The Start is less than the type T but it has its characters and also we can do with things impossible with a Tl (try the sounds out phase with Tl-I laughs a little). Purchase any fawn I try not war, one day I will also have a T!
It's too lightweight for big sound that good but with Czech pedals in front of a good amp lamp families, sends out the same as graouh.
What I use on my Start hummm? Ben 's not all ... prs
- Micro Serious blues solos typs
- Serious and middle pickup combinations: rhythmic
- Micro environment: more solos and rhythmic rock type
- Middle and treble pickups combination: more rhythmic funk
- Micro acute: I use it almost never alone. Too aggressive for me the one!
You see, I do not reinvent the tide water, I use my Start trs acadm finally.
short, I love all his sounds.
For me it's even one of the great strengths of the skyscraper: the diversity and yet the personality.
OVERALL OPINION
I have 10 years.
Pigalle bought new for 4600 USD, c'tait the right time.
I hsit with prestigious MODELS (Start + etc ...). A salesman advised me: "You want the sound of discs you Listen to you? Buy Standard. It buzz, it is rustic, but it was worth the money: you have the sound of your idols"
He was right the guy.
If I had not my Start and my Gibson would be too happy, but not!
So well that sr aa t a purchase of my life. I use it at least once a week, and even if I am doing infidlits, it is one of the favorite and she knows it.
But today, it's true that I often watch the Warmoth site, why not a Start Super beautiful personal mmmmhhhh?
In any case, for the price I had paid the era, I have no regrets. Not a problem, no knob spitting, no nut that cuts the strings (I broke my string Premire two months ago, yet I would put the 10-46 that I bend to a Your 1 / 2 or 2 tones of time).
A reliable guitar, classical, without risk, but which gives leeway to scratch to hear his playing personality. A really good scratch. Mine is the color "Candy Apple Red" (red apple caramlise in the text, photo on my profile), and thus we see beneath the veneer alder. Simple, class, lgant, great everything.
In short, a skyscraper that made me happy! And continues!

The handle is extremely comfortable. Obviously all the difference, in my opinion, between a custom shop or a reissue, is the handle. One can certainly find it more comfortable but the fender standard US offers nice balance between playability and character of the handle ... Basically you have to "send", play with the nuances, attack ... A guitar and a handle to tame, but a wide variety of sounds appointment.
Weight level mine is particularly light, it still has 15 years, but in general the strata 'alder have a very reasonable weight.
I put 8 because of mechanical junk that they were at the time.
SOUNDS
Sound Start 'is the versatility to meet you. The single coils deliver clear and saturated sounds wonderful little we know dose effects and adjust the amp. Then the original pickups are a scandal to me. The pickups fender, it's really not that great, except for some Lace Sensor and rigor of the Texas Special ... Do not hesitate to go to Di Marzio, Seymour Duncan, Van Zandt, Kinman ... It depends on taste and color.
I use most often on Mesa Boogie, Peavy Classic 30 and Fender Hot Rod or Twin. Always a treat.
Belle versatility but blame fender pickups and rotting during the 90's.
OVERALL OPINION
Stratum 'standard US violin offers quality, beautiful acoustic and aesthetic qualities. I know Fender has since installed additional microphones and mechanical on the standard and at the same time increased its prices significantly ... After testing I am not convinced by the microphones ... The value for money is impeccable, even excellent. Even if it is added 200/300 euros to get the sound, this guitar through time, is very versatile and is mostly very solid and well finished. And the bonus is that it sounds better and better with time ... An excellent investment over the long term.

SOUNDS
This guitar is perfect for clean sounds or slightly crunchy. The positions of the most interesting (in my opinion) is the neck pickup, see round-the middle or the one you get dug, bluesy, great for solos and easel for a high-pitched great for rhythm. Other positions lack personality and have no interest in this guitar.
I abandoned the classic traditional amplifier for Guitar Rig 3 software solution. Well, sounds obtained are really good, knowing that with this type of product, the effects can be grown thoroughly.
However, the only flaw of this guitar are the pickups. We feel that Fender did not want to give too much personality, offering a sound, albeit typed Start, but still neutral enough to meet the needs of the majority. In addition, once you add saturation, that buzz (just normal for single coil). I think investing in Custom Shop 69 pickups to give it a bit more personality. The overall quality of the instrument is very good, it provides a reasonably priced guitar with a Stratocaster sound four times as much! I took advantage of a shield can do all this to reduce the buzz!
This will bring no added value to the instrument, so for those who want to sell after eating, it is better to turn to a Custom Shop Start directly.

The Start is a versatile guitar with his possde DEFINITIONS CHARACTERISTICS sound and clean. It's not for nothing that some have chosen: SRV, Hendrix, Gilmour, McCready ... Ok they are raw but you never know one day the spotlights shine for you too may be.
SOUNDS
AHHHHHHHHHHH
It should all the styles I play. While a small pedals allows for more roundness to a Led Zeppelin but it shines even in Rock Reggae Funk Jazz when needed. For the Rock, some prfrent Gibson or the other (it's not lack of choice) for me is the stratum. I have trouble buying dcrire but I have not even part of its saturated jou have a Fender amp and 20 minutes APRS test I took the map. Business class. Since it is only happiness.
