    Fender Super Strat

Fender Deluxe Super StratPublished on 09/10/06 at 15:00
I am 36 year old from Indiana. I have been playing in bands as a second job since age 13 as a drummer, guitarist and bassist. I currently keep busy as a guitarist in a local blues band, as a drummer in a local rock band and as drummer, guitarist and bassist in my church's praise band. I am a fan of great music regardless of the label affixed to it, but some of favoites and influences include SRV,Clapton,Joe Bonamassa,Robben Ford,Hendrix,Pre-Eliminator ZZ Top,Los Lonely Boys,Merle Haggard,Freddie King,Carter Beauford,Robin Trower and about 500 more people that I will not be able to include in the interest of space.

I traded 2 Squier Strats for it.

The 3-color sunburst finish is gorgeous and is really complimented nicely by the gold hardware and tortoise-shell pickguard.

The sound is classic sweet Strat all the way. Just what I was after.

Very nice neck and great fit and finish.

The only complaint I have is that this thing weighs just under a ton.

See above. A beautiful instrument, particularly in light of it's low retail price.

I would buy another of these in a heartbeat, but I need a LP first.

i got it from a friend for 350

Its fast and it has good sound. also the strings are low to the fret board. and the 7-way switch is sweet.

it has cheap plastic knobs and it doesnt distort as well as i would like but that might be just me.

like i said the knobs suck but the gold plated hardware is sweet

    its worth the money

I don't have this guitar, but plaid it in a nearby music store. The list price was 559 dollars or so. Not bad. I'm still saving up for it.

I like everything. The finish is great, and the pickguard is cool as well. The pickups are new from Fender. they are super fat super strats. another cool feature is a push/push button. It allows seven combinations of pickups usage. Gold hardware! Awesome

    nothing. everything is great.

construction......everyone knows that Fender strats are immortal.

    Awesome guitar. Buy it!

I don't have this, but tried enough of it to make and educated opinion. I tried it at a nearby music shop, and the list price was 559 dollars. I had seen the same guitar on a website for 538 dollars. Not much of a difference, but i didn't buy it.

What i liked was the finish. It was a beatiful brown sunburst, and the pick guard was nice too. The hardware of the whole guitar was gold. NICE and SWEET. Of course, the gold wares off, but can later be replaced. The pickups are a new product by Fender, they are Super Fat Super Strat pickups, overwound. Kind of like the Texas Special pickups, but closer to that Steavie Ray Vaughan sound. There are seven pickup combinations as well, allowing a cool…

Compared to other strat's, this is a very light guitar. Not that I don't like it, but its strange....anyway, that's bout it. There's nothing bad about this guitar.

Construction? Puh--lease. Everyone knows that strats are bullet proof, and never die. You could run over one, and it still wouldn't break!

Very nice guitar. Don't be a fag like all those other losers that don't buy Mexican made strats. Mexican made is just as good as American made. Mexico meets the boarder of Texas. That means a great Blues sound!

looking for a strat.Got this one from musicians friend for 499.

I dont know why more people dont buy these.
The workmenship is great and the 7 way switching gives you a verity of tones.I changed out the pickups to lace sensors(the originals are good)But I wanted that fat gibson sound for blues So I replaced the neck pickup with a blue lace a gold in the middle and a silver in the bridge wow with the 7 way you have a super versital ax.Get the frets edged and you have a great strat.

Mine is honey blonde w a maple neck and board.Gold hardware comes standard. The tortus shell pickguard looks great. I have a hard time telling the differance from the tone on the neck pickup or the neck and center on from my les paul! And with the silver at the bridge you get the surf sound. You also can have all 3 on at once for rythem. Or the neck and bridge at once(try that with a standard strat!) I dont know why some say the mexican strats are bad. This one is almost flawless and sounds great with good sustain. I have other guitars as well as another strat, a rick, a les paul and a casino for the p90 hollow body sound but I play this strat and the casino the most and they are the least expensive with a few mods.

The frets were a little sharp on the edges. But I am picky. You can get them edged for 10-15.00 at any guitar store. Other than that this is a great value

    Very good

like I said very few people buy these or even know they exist(7way)I think this is a great ax for the price.

I purchased it from Ron's Music in Grand Island, Nebraska for 350 dollars. It is black and has a great grip. I was looking for a guitar for my boyfriend who was going to start a band. But later i fell in love with it myself. It was truely a great buy! I had no regrets.

I love the chimey, open sound of a Strat. The neck is just right, and the frets are well-dressed. The ash body is light and resonant. Finish is a beautiful tranparent crimson, just as red as blood, and you can see the nice grain of the ash wood through it. The dark tortoise-shell pickguard sets off the color perfectly. I replaced the white knobs with black ones to match the Carvin pickups, and that looks fantastic! Seven-way…

I like the neck and bridge together for leads, and all 3 pickups together for rhythm playing. There is nothing like the sound of a clean Strat.

I dont really have any problems with it except that there's the high E string's tendency to slide off the side of the fretboard if i'm going fast.

It is of excellent quality. The fit and finish are flawless. And i just love the clear renosant.

I really have no regrets buying this baby. It has become one of the most enjoyable things in my life to play it. It's a great-playing, great-sounding and elegant with simplicity.

Bought used from Ron's Music in Grand Island, Nebraska for $300.00 with no case or gig bag. I was looking for a guitar to replace one that I wasn't happy with. The Strat's reputation led me to try some out at the local shop, and I fell in love. Several months later, I had a tech replace the stock pickups with some Carvin AP-11 single-coils which greatly improved the output level and the sound.

Seven-way-switching allows 7 possible combinations for a wide variety of sounds. I like the neck and bridge together for leads, and all 3 pickups together for rhythm playing. There is nothing like the sound of a clean Strat, but it also sounds great through my BOSS Blues Driver.

My only complaint is the square area where the neck bolts on. Nothing you can do but get used to it, but it does press into your hand when you play high up the neck. (Doesn't seem to bother Clapton, Beck, Jimmie Vaughan, et al.)

Well, then there's the high E string's tendency to slide off the side of the fretboard when you're playing fast. Requires a slight technique adjustment to avoid doing this. (Doesn't seem to bother those guys, either...)

I don't know why some folks complain about the Mexico-built Fenders. Mine is of excellent quality. The fit and finish are flawless, and the original pups weren't that bad. (I just had an impossibly good deal to get the Carvins put in.) I've played a number of Mexi-Strats, both at guitar shops, and at friends' homes, and they've all been good. I plan to keep this guitar for a LONG time, and based on my experience I expect that it will probably outlive me.

What a fine guitar! I understand now why the Strat has been around for so long, and why so many guitarists own them. It's a great-playing, great-sounding, simple, and bullet-proof design whose price tag will not send you to the poor house.

    SOUNDS

I can only talk about this guitar with Lace sensor, because I never heard the origins of microphones.
Suffice to say that it sounds dj empty lot (we feel the wood vibrate against you) then with Lace, it's pure happiness.
It really does not envy a standart usa (and I know what I mean ...).

    OVERALL OPINION

I am satisfied with this guitar trs (trs of OCCAZ is a good deal).
It has a vintage look and a handle, a violin that will be taking a hard default, beautiful colors ...

In short, if I find one second to the same price I bought ...
