Fender pays tribute to Nile Rodgers with a limited edition Strat that debuted yesterday at NAMM 2014.
The guitar is a special recreation of the “Hitmaker” 1960 Stratocaster played by Chic co-founder and revered session guitarist, producer, composer and arranger on countless chart-topping songs. The full specs of the guitar are:
- Alder body with worn Relic lacquer finish in Olympic White
- 25.5" scale, custom C-shaped maple neck
- Maple fingerboard with 21 narrow Jumbo frets and black dot inlays, 9.5" (241 mm) radius
- Nut Width: 1.625" (41.3 mm)
- Custom neck plate
- Custom Hand-Wound Stratocaster pickups
- Master Volume, Tone 1. (Neck Pickup), Tone 2. (Middle Pickup) controls, plus 5-position blade switch
- Vintage–style Non-Tremolo hard-tail bridge
- Nickel/Chrome hardware
- Sperzel locking tuners
- Chrome-plated brass pickguard
- Includes limited edition case, strap, cable, Custom Shop picks, Certificate of Authenticity, and polishing cloth
