Hatsubai's review"Hard tail Ibanez"

Ibanez RG1451
Most people know Ibanez as a shredder guitar company, and because of that, 90% of their guitars have floyds. However, this guitar has a normal hard tail bridge that some might really enjoy. The guitar has a basswood body with a maple neck, rosewood fretboard with 24 frets, dot inlays, a hard tail bridge, HSH configuration, all access neck joint, one volume, one tone and a five way switch.

UTILIZATION

I'll get this part out of the way first. I am actually a guy who loves floyd roses. I know that people say that they suck tone, but it's not really true. It's just a different tone. It's not better or worse. The bridge on this is a pretty high quality bridge, but I have to say that I prefer floyds on my Ibanez guitars. They just feel more natural to me. The fretwork on this was top notch, although there was a little bit of fretwear going on thanks to the guitar being used. Everything else was pretty on par for the course with this guitar.

SOUNDS

The guitar had the stock pickups in it still, and that was the weakest thing about this guitar. The bridge pickup tends to sound a bit muddy under gain. It can work for cleans and some lower gain stuff, but once you add some decent amount of gain, it tends to lose clarity that other DiMarzios have. The neck pickup was a bit bright for me, although turning down the tone knob helped solve the issue. The problem came when switching between the neck and bridge with the different tone positions. I would constantly be fiddling with the knobs in between lead lines.

OVERALL OPINION

The guitar is great for those looking for a hard tail version of the Ibanez guitar. However, if you're looking for a hard tail model, I can't help but recommend the RGA121 or RG321 instead. It's just a better sounding guitar overall, although you have to get used to the arch top on it. Not everyone likes that. This is a solid model, but I feel there are better ones out there. Regardless, you'll want to swap the pickups for something better.

bako28's review (This content has been automatically translated from French)" A bargain!"

Ibanez RG1451
Comes from the Prestige series Ibanez RG with Made In Japan with J-Craft.
Configuration H / S / H: IBZ Humbucker V6F (handle) + humbucker IBZ V6F2 (vibrato) + single coil IBZ RTS (central)
Black hardware chrome pretty good, Basswood body of very good quality, HP Channel Wizard Prestige maple / walnut (very fine:) ), Rosewood 24 frets jumbo frets.
It is one of the only series RG prestige to have a fixed bridge, which is the Tight End Bridge, also used for the FR series of the Prestige brand.

UTILIZATION

The handle is one of the finest and most enjoyable that I've been playing a real highway!
The guitar has a weight that would be in the middle, there is a lot heavier, but there are also much lighter (eg Ibanez S. ..)
Access to the treble is very easy, you end up inadvertently in the 24th box

SOUNDS

My style from jazz rock, from hard rock, metal to hold the microphones fine.

In addition to the configuration, these pickups are very versatile (though it is also its weakness, by dint of being good enough everywhere there is nowhere perfect!).
The bridge pickup is perfect for making good heavy riffs or playing with his very sharp or frenzied solos :-) , moreover, it is set at a good height (quite close to the strings), but that does not interfere my game right hand.
I use the neck pickup to sound more ... soft, or rather rock, personally I find it not bad, but it's still subjective eh!
Finally the micro center which is a single coil sound offers a bit more variety for cool sounds clear, but it's not one I use most.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 weeks.
It's a great guitar well anyway. Than 540 euros for quality stuff to be jealous of the U.S. sold more than 1000 euros. Even if it is not very high end is really a bargain. Besides I'm not wild about the Floyds, so I really was amazed! The only complaint (but well after we like it or not) is his lack of personality.
