    Ibanez RG

    Ibanez RG770Published on 11/22/02 at 15:00
I bought my guitar at guitar center in illinois 3 or 4 years ago. I paid, on sale for christmas.

I love my guitar!!! it's thiner and lighter both with the body and neck then fender's, but i think its an inch or 2 longer, and i like that. I believe it has better quality pickups then abother guitar under $350. (it might be more then $350 list, but i dought u cant find it under $350 somewhere)

It has medium quality pickups... they have never buzzed when in a practice amp but they do a little with the bridge pickup when i use my 100w Line6 amp turned up really loud. the little plastic border around the hole for the pickup ed... due to me playing really hard and hitting it every time i…

It's very durable i've spun around and hit walls, leaned it againt a chair and had it fall 25+ times, droped it in case while walking twice... it has 3 big chips but i put car touch up black paint on it and u cant tell it ever had a scratch! the neck it still on tight and overall one of the best built guitars there is!

I bought this guitar as a beginner guitar... i've been playing 4 years with it, i just started a band and plan on playing local concerts with it... i dont think i'll ever buy another guitar unless i win the lottery in which case i'd buy a $2,000 dollor guitar just for fun. This guitar seems it will never break. The only think i can see doing in the future s mabey better pickups. If u want a guitar under $350 that will last long and is light and a tad thiner then normal buy this guitar now!

sounds tend to drool in the bass (for the sounds of Korn) (I have a 5150).
Overall this guitar is a good instrument, the sound of microphones may be too limited

    OVERALL OPINION

Good quality hsitation have no price if you search a 7-string guitar over the holding of the vibrato is excellent (unlike many other models of the brand)

The microphone is ague plutt his fate a saturated while the possible combinations allowed with slecteur 5 positions that splits the micro F4 will allow to have a clear gloss and trs trs crystalline This is great for clean sounds, even if there is a decreased level of output in this configuration.

    OVERALL OPINION

In my opinion this guitar is a great instrument to play in many styles, provided, however, to have the appropriate amp. Having jou on various amps (Marshall, Laney, Fender) the choice of amp is cruxial to take this guitar the best it even.
This guitar does not widely distributed in France (from The models can be RG770DX). For my part I had purchased in the United States there are a dozen years, and despite extensive use in both studio and turns, the violin has not changed.
This guitar was worth the era in France, if I remember right 7990Frs.
In short, this guitar is among the best on which t given me to play, (I possde 14 Fender, Gibson, Charvel, Washburn and others) say that in fact, it's really the guitar suits me.

    Crazy colors and inlays

    Ibanez RG770Published on 04/21/11 at 17:14
The RG-770 has gone through many reiterations throughout its time as a model, and it's actually been recently re-released a few years ago. This review will mainly be talking about one of the original models that were offered. These guitars feature all the same great features you'd find on any regular RG-550/RG-570, but they also feature a clear pickguard, crazy finishes, white binding and some special sharkfin inlays.

There are various models of these that were released. The one I played had a purple colored body, rosewood fretboard (not maple), original Edge trem and original neck joint. The Wizard necks on these are great if you're into really thin, flat necks. T…

These guitars feature all the same great features you'd find on any regular RG-550/RG-570, but they also feature a clear pickguard, crazy finishes, white binding and some special sharkfin inlays.

    UTILIZATION

There are various models of these that were released. The one I played had a purple colored body, rosewood fretboard (not maple), original Edge trem and original neck joint. The Wizard necks on these are great if you're into really thin, flat necks. They allow you to absolutely blaze through solo lines with ease. The original Edge tremolo is probably one of my top three favorite floyd roses out there; it stays in tune and handles any abuse you can throw at it. While the old style neck joint is prone to finish cracks and lacks the access the AANJ has, I find that they sound better for whatever reason.

    SOUNDS

The older model RGs sound very huge compared to today's RGs for whatever reason. I'm not sure if it's quality of wood or what, but I really like the older RGs like this. The basswood body with maple neck/rosewood fretboard makes this guitar really sing for lead lines, and it's probably my favorite wood combo for leads. The pickups are pretty dull sounding, but replacing them isn't a huge issue considering you can generally find these really cheap on eBay. Just be sure to get one that isn't a parts guitar.

    OVERALL OPINION

The RG-770 is a great RG for anybody looking for a tremolo equipped guitar. Some people dislike basswood, but I find it can sound very musical with the right amp and music style. Since these are pretty old, be sure to find one that hasn't just had a neck swap or something.
