Mine has t manufactures in Korea.
It has a bridge crossing, ie the strings through the bridge and fall into the guitar.
The neck has 24 frets. This is a handle al so it is no heel, which makes access to acute more enjoyable and easy in my opinion. It is equipped with two EMG pickups, a 81 (bridge position) and 85 (neck position).
There are altogether two potentiometers, one that rgle volume and another rgle the tonality. Micro slecteur has three positions: neck pickup, neck pickup + pickup, and finally pickup.
It has a devastating look, I find it really beautiful.




USE

The neck is thin enough and fast. It is varnished and painted, which could GNER those of you pretty sweaty hands. In my case, the handle that is best for me, after it's only a matter of tastes and colors!
The ergonomics of this guitar seems perfect to me. It trslgre well balanced (it does not sting the nose when playing standing up) and the shape is very well suited for optimum playing comfort. The access to acute is very simple, no GNE is felt. You can easily find a suitable sound, as given that there are only two potentiometers and microphone slecteur three positions.

SONORITS

In my case I am very metal tourn (all types of metal), and do not lie, the EMG pickups are made to a!
Regarding the sound saturated simply plug it in, put the volume knob to the max, a good distortion and the trick is played! EMG out a powerful and massive enough, all with a certain aggressiveness. The sound is very clean and prcis, especially with the EMG 81, perfect for quick rhythm. The 85 gives a very good smooth and warm sound, convenient to shred solos and all kinds.
Regarding the clean, the 85 comes a fairly clear sound good "cold". But that's the kind of sound that I flat. I almost never use the 81 clean because the sound on the 85 suits me perfectly.

UTILIZATION

Handle very nice: not too big, not too thin, access to acute and perfect balance. Immediate handling.
Super lightweight to play up (and jump around) is ideal. it changes my brick LP! With that, we're ready to land on any beach of Normandy.

It's not a guitar to bossa nova you can imagine ...
I use it in D tuning (and drop C). Palm mute guaranteed hell.
It incredible substain (thank you driver and the through strings sleeve)
You have to play on a good hi-gain amp and / or a serious distortion pedal to really empty the magazine.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 5 years. Very good guitar for metal. Initially it may seem a bit "plastic" but once connected it is quickly forgotten.
Lightweight, powerful and what substain! she has the mouth with its binding and trans black finish!
I never essyé ESP horizon but I think the LTD is not ridiculous side.

I play this guitar with a blackstar HT20 in mind connect in a 4x12 cabinet celestion v30
saturation is nearly perfect especially when you love the aggressive sounds
after to clean like that a little bit before it's pretty but not by + against the intermediate position (a position that I hate about the pickups in general, including a 81/60) super cream goes on 81/85 on the saturated and clean

I love comfort, the finishes are beautiful it almost looks like a real horizon (presqie) after the knobs are super reliable and efficient, the nut of which is a head Earvana (ais I read somewhere) I think that it is graphite, its tuning stability due to the nut and also super grover for once make their Taffs well, I like comfort etc ....
I do not like on the other hand is its knobs ... paradox because they are among the positives? not because they are certainly excelement good but they are also very sensitive and fast on as a trend it up with a minimum sound due to a stroke pick a little too energetic ....

Regarding the clean, the 85 outputs a "cold" enough clear sound good. But this is the kind of sound that I like. I almost never use the 81 as the clean sound on the 85 suits me perfectly.
What I like most about the sound of this guitar is its aggressiveness and its high accuracy, the whole being of the two active pickups.

OVERALL OPINION

I have 3 years now, and I'm not tired. This was my third guitar and I have not bought more since! What I like most is its looks, its ergonomics and its pest. ESP / LTD comes really quality guitars for a really reasonable price. I think this is a guitar very good price / quality ratio. It is medium-range but easily rivals some high-end guitars.
Ave experience I remake this choice without hesitation, and I'm not about to fall for one another!

I trust this guitar so much that I've owned three of them. Toured with a pair for some time and bought another one after selling both off. Two were made in Korea (one in 06, one in 08) and one (MH401QMNT) in Indonesia (09). All had 24 fret, set through maple necks with ESP's thin neck contour, mahogany bodies and active EMG 81 (bridge)/85 (neck) pickups with a master volume, master tone and three way selector switch. All had a tune-o-matic bridge and were string through body.
The 06 had natural binding and I think it looked a lot better than the white binding on the later models, but the quality between the 06 and 08 was really close. The Indonesian model suffered from some minor finish flaws, but sonically didn't stray very far.

UTILIZATION

The set through neck gives way to the contoured heel that ESP and LTD have made their reputation with. The reason is simple, excellent access down to the 24th fret without feeling awkward or bulky.
I'm a big fan of flat thin necks, but the thin U neck contour is comfortable and really easy to get around. This guitar has enough heft to it and a mahogany body to add depth to your tone without losing the shred lineage that ESP built it's foundation upon. You can shred and riff easily and you won't compromise on either end of the spectrum.
The tuners on the three models that I had were all Grovers. Starting in 2010, they started using ESP branded tuners on the 400 series LTDs and those are unquestionably lesser quality. The Grovers get the job done, but I opted for Sperzel locking tuners on all three.
Earavana nut on all three of these, no problems there. I had to switch one to graphite years later and that was a definite improvement. Also combined with Graphtech string saddles, gave my strings considerably more life.
The tune-o-matic bridge was good, but definitely one area that I wasn't too excited about. The cosmo black is prone to oxidization very quickly and it begins to look old beyond it's year/s very quickly. I went for the Tonepros locking bridge instead and it adds a touch of sustain, but the real bonus comes in quicker and easier string changing and polishing. The high gloss finish will show every fingerprint or sweat streak, so I would start wiping after every show and end up polishing between every string change, but that's OCD talking, it's not necessary.
My one real qualm with the design has more to do with the archtop, the volume and tone knobs dropped into the top a bit and there's a dip surrounding them. It looks fine, but if you're getting sweaty while playing and killing the volume between songs, it's really easy to get the area under the knob sweaty enough to corrode those pots far quicker than you would want to imagine. I thought about swapping the volume pot with a killswitch, but never got around to it. Seems a tad unnecessary.

SOUNDS

The standard EMG 81/85 set sounds excellent in this guitar. Great resonance from the mahogany body and the maple top gives it some added punch.
I play death metal, and any kind of metal or core is going to sound really great from this guitar, but it doesn't lose out on the clean side of things. The active pickups are definitely geared towards heavier music, but if you wanted to have a bit more versatility and less heaviness, you could easily swap out for passives and get a bit more range.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, this is a great guitar. If I had to start over, I would stick with one of these. The later models don't have the same features, so I would stick with a used one. I have played newer models off the shelf and they sound good, but it seems like there was a mid-00's peak in the production that's hard to surpass. Just to add to that value, they're fairly easy to find with a hardshell case between $400-500.
If you get this as a first or early guitar, you'll have a really hard time parting ways with it.
For me, these were solid workhorse guitars that played and sounded great. They made a perfect place holder until I got enough money up to upgrade to the ESP Horizon NT II which these were largely modeled after.

OVERALL OPINION

As I said before I have this guitar for a few days and it satisfies me in every way.
At the default I do not see much except may be the failure to rather an EMG 89 or 85 in the sleeve, and the pictures on the ESP are so crappy pictures that I think may be going some ash (see Transparent Blue color of mh 400).

825 E to this guitar is exceptional (finishing CHARACTERISTICS) and for me is the most interresting new series with the LTD 400 mh 400 with original floyd and the F 400 will be available in September last I found also that 'it has nothing to envy ESP 2FX almost as much.

Without hsitation I reffer the same choice.

UTILIZATION

-The handle is gnial. I play for a long time on a Jackson Dinky, and I immediately comfortable on the t Ltd, while the sleeves are completely DIFFERENT.
-L 'treble for CSTA is easy
-The guitar is very well balance

I have seen and tried almost everything before buying, Ibanez, Jackson, Lag, Bc rich ,.... level quality price ratio is unbeatable, I think.
I was looking for a mahogany body, table, stocky, good handle, WITHOUT FLOYD !!!!!!!! and I found !!!!!
Now find a good guitar without floyd is impossible, the tune-o-matic t Determines which in my choice.

Features are listed below, except for the microphones to be. UTILIZATION

I go out with a handle "magic" type Ibanez Wizard, a rise in RG 550 EMG81/85 for microphones. I must say that I had no problem to adapt to the new round of the LTD MH400-NT. Game very fluid, access to keys impeccable, even in acute.

Compared to my old Ibanez RG 550, the LTD weighs a featherweight! I admit that it's very nice, it only 4kg if we believe the other reviews apparently. But rest assured, the light does not completely put at risk the sound that is very hot, very serious and filled in all.

Suits me perfectly to my style: I play metal with, and quite large and nag. The palm-mutting is huge, the basic sound rich and accurate! UTILIZATION

The handle is a true boulevard, may not be as ergonomic as some Ibanez but it remains enjoyable trs, excellent width / thickness. Access in acute is comfortable, nothing to do with the Les Paul that I used before ... The shape is super functional as well as Aesthetics, the guitar is not grazing and pluttlgre trs. Also the tuning is good even in hyper nag on the strings. Good point.
As the quality of its ben there anything wrong, it's just perfect for everything related to rock. The clean sounds are clean and powerful on the emg 89 ct round (but not extraordinary on the emg 85 in bridge), the saturation levels up to Dante as the amp, or be confined to pretty crunches.

SOUNDS

I play mtalcore ala Unearth, Arkangel, caliban etc. .. and post HC plutt ambient style Isis, Cult Of Luna, Amen Ra. In any case, the head couple randall Rh50, trs is good.

OVERALL OPINION

The field are scratching prdilection Obviously this sounds (very) but it gets saturated trs nice crunch and clean sounds (even when it is the complete opposite of the fender ). Coupled with a hi gain amp (transo or lamp) is the gain and sustain hyper duly impressive.
A dtail that j'apprcie particulirement all is the lack of vibrato floyd! It's not empty to find a good guitar that is typemtal dpourvu.
I got this guitar pay Neuros 720. It's expensive but it's worth it. I am curious to compare it with an esp since I really wonder what can be amlior on this guitar.
This guitar is a gem for any practitioner or music mtal saturates.

UTILIZATION

Depui about 10 months and for that price (the low in my opinion) I find mieu is still not as scratch and yet I scratch in my life and try Jackson, Ibanez, B, C Rich etc ... ben's nothing wrong apart from the big problem livrson I had to wait all of three months for the same reevoire and the store also reu Ltd mh 400 (with Floyd Rose)

UTILIZATION

The handle is very ergonomic and comfortable [edit on 18/08/08 by I find it slides against evil], I find the action quite constant along the handle which is very pleasant.
access to acute is pretty easy.
The guitar is light for mahogany, would stay again.

SOUNDS

This guitar is perfect for heavy metal, the lack of Pink Floyd can easily change tunings (if any).
I plugged into an Engl Powerball head, it is easy and accurate sounds very "heavy" thanks to the micro Emg 81.
Mahogany brings a little low-mids, BUT YES !!!!!!
For me this mahogany guitar is not unusual, we feel the same playing without being plugged in, it's light, its lack of density but good for the price, do not expect a heavy wood dense and hot.
Emg they send the pick and I think he do it well.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two days, I changed the input strings, lowered the action, loosen it a quarter turn of the truss rod, re-harmonics (easily), checked the battery.
This guitar has an excellent quality / price ratio.
What I like least is a lack of heat, especially due to the average quality of gasoline.
This is my first contact with EMG, it's clean, precise, full of attack on wood of choice, they must be excellent.

I dont care what alphabet soup ESP calls this guitar this guitar is the LTD version of the Horizon with active pickups. The Horizon is the arch top version of ESP's classic shredder the M-II. And this is the LTD version so it is not made in Japan but the quality is very nice. This guitar is about 1000 dollars less than the ESP version would be and the only real difference is the fretboard. This guitar has a set neck construction instead of neck through but the heel is so nice you would think it was neck through. It has a maple neck set neck with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has 24 jumbo frets on it with offset inlays. It has the Earvana compensated nut to help with the intonation across the whole neck. The body is mahogany with a quilted maple top. The body has really cool natural binding. The binding itself is just the natural wood from the maple top. It has standard Grover tuners and a tune-o-matic string through bridge. The pickups in this guitar are a set up active EMG's. It has EMG 81s front and back like an M-II would have. The controls are your standard master tone and master volume with a 3 way blade switch.

UTILIZATION

The playability on this guitar is great and exactly what you would expect from this type of ESP guitar. The neck is nice and thin and the fretboard is nice and flat. The flat fretboard and the jumbo frets let you get a super low action on the guitar. The hardtail setup means it is super easy to tune the guitar or change strings. You wont have to break out your toolbox to do a string change on this guitar. The active pickups means that you will have to put in a 9v battery in the guitar if you want it to work. ESP has built in a battery compartment for that so you dont have to take off the whole control cavity plate to replace the battery.

SOUNDS

This guitar might sound better than the ESP version. With the set neck construction you get a different tone from the guitar. Neck through guitars have a slightly brighter tone since everything is on the same piece of wood. With a set neck guitar the connection of the neck and the body with the glue kind of softens the tone. With EMG pickups this is important because these pickups are naturally bright. EMG pickups on some neck through guitars sound too bright. The EMG pickups in this guitar work well for pretty much any kind of music. The bridge tones on this guitar are super clear. The 81 is a pretty bright pickup from stock so in a neck through guitar with an alder body this guitar is cutting through anything. The 81 in the neck is not a good choice in my opinion. With a guitar this bright you would want to darken up the neck position tones. I would have preferred an 85 in the neck. The 85 would have been good in the bridge also to thicken up the naturally bright tones of the guitar. With the EMG quick connect system this makes it easy for you to swap pickups so you can try other EMG models and see what you like best. And if you dont like EMG's you can always get the version with Seymour Duncans. ESP is good like that.

OVERALL OPINION

This guitar is great if you want a good solid metal guitar with EMG pickups. No tremolo means the upkeep is super easy and you can tune it to whatever you want without having to adjust springs and whatever. The EMG pickups mean the guitar is dead quiet even with rediculous rigs and studio equipment. If you want a good solid shred guitar check this out.
