I was playing my acoustic guitar and the more I play, the more I desired a electric since I cant play good punk or metally stuff on it. I got this guitar set from costco online in christmas for 189 USD, the shipping was fast, it was about three days. There are the red one and the black one. It is very well built, also amazing that it was made in china. This guitar is made of basswood, neck is maple and fingerboard is rosewood. It also has a standard tremolo bridge and one tone, volume and five-way pickup switch. Also comes with a 7Volt?? speaker and a bunch of other things including extra strings.

It is well built, very loud for a bedroom environment. The tremolo is very cool, the guitar has a humbucker pickup. It is great for metal or punk rock. It doesnt get out of tune that often, as I have seen in other reviews. I like the small frets, it is very easy to play, except for the friction on the fingerboard which is very hard to move around with. It can also receive pinch harmonics pretty good when it is turned to the loudest and the highest treble. I guess the features are more than enough for a beginner like me, in general, this is a very good guitar for its price.

The strap is very dangerous, when you put on the strap, remember to hold the guitar tightly(in case it falls). It catches dust very fast(well, I leave it out on the stand most of the time)The amp also buzzes when turned on drive. That is basically all the bad things you would need to know.

Again, it is well built especially for a made in china. (I expected indonesia, oh well)

i got this guitar kit for 299.99$ canadian at yamaha canada Ltd.(in scarborough,ontario,canada)you're not supposed to buy it there-but after e-mailing yamaha canada-the supervisor decided to sell me one.usually-you're supposed to get it at costco or sam's club-but those places need membership cards to buy.i got this guitar kit because it's the best guitar kit you can get for this prics-it's better than all the others at this price range.

i like that it came with pretty much anything you need(guitar,GA-10 amp,strap,cable,string winder, extra pck of strings,gig bag,3 picks,and a tuner).it has a great sound-perfect for practicing or improving-but for gigging-you might wanna get another amp(nothing wrong with the amp-it's just not powerful enough-10 watts)it was low-price,as well.

There's not really anything i don't like about this guitar kit-i'm satisfied with my purchase.

I went to the shop, but the seller told me that the Squir Strat had a worse starter packet and said that the Yamaha guitar is a exact copy of the Squir. I got the Yamaha, a 20 W amp, gigbag and a strap for 299 €.

It's sound is fantastic! It playes easyer than my friends Squir strat ja the Yamaha feels good. It's alsow very well built, feel very strong eventought it's a light guitar.


The only problem is that it's not the original Fender Stratocaster USA/Mexico. And the fact that it only has one not two tuners.

It's well built, never felt that it might break. It's sound is alsow good and clean, but if you hit the strigs very hard it does rattle a bit.
The neck on this guitar is very good and it slide easy for me. And I love that it has the humbucker!

Great value! It's the best beginner guitar I know and it's cheap! Squir is no better and only costs more.
Well built, good sound, 22 frets, easy-to-play neck and a low price.

Like the other review, I got this guitar in a package deal with a nice practice amp, picks, extra strings, and a tuner from Costco, for about 300 something CDN. Talk about cheap!

I was very pleased with the build quality and looks of this guitar. It is light, but solid, with beatiful glossy black lacquer paint. The guitar has very precise, quick action, is really easy to play, and features nice little additions like a bridge humbucker that gives good crunchy distortion, and a rosewood fretboard. The tremolo stays in tune after use, which is nice,

Though it is a beautiful well-built guitar, I dont't really like it's tone; it is crystal clear, and very trebly, which is good for some songs, but not general use. It lacks low end punch. Yamaha tends to make instruments without character, and this is no exception. I suspect that the tone is a result of the pickups, so if you buy this guitar as a beginner, then advance, and demand better sound, you could replace the pickups with some aftermarket ones. Also, the lack of an extra tone knob means that you can't be very versatile with your sound, at least with the controls on the guitar.

I'd give this guitar an excellent rating for build quality, it's not just good for the money, it's good compared to any guitar. It is well painted, well put together, with good components, and is very durable.

For the beginner guitar player, I would definately recommend this guitar. It is insanely cheaply priced. I haven't seen lower quality guitars for more money than this one. The build quality and looks are top notch, playability is top notch, and it has great features (minus the lack of midrange tone knob). The only real minus is the tone (more trebly than average), but it still beats the hell out of having to play an acoustic guitar. If you buy as a beginner and progress, you can always upgrade the pickups for the sound you want.
This guitar is excellent for the beginner, or an acoustic player going electric, or even an advanced player who likes the crystal clear, trebly sound.

I purchased this guitar at at one of these wholesale warehouse stores, more specifically, the CostCo in Dedham, Massachusetts with a complete starter kit, including a GA-10 practice amplifier, strap, automatic tuner, strings, tuning key, whammie bar, and Hal Leonard Guitar Method Guitar Book; everything you need to start playing.

The guitar was very light, and easy to handle. It was pretty much a clone of a Fender Stratocaster, except for it's having a humbucker for the bridge pickup. It looks great, plays very easily, would recommend for an aspiring rock guitarist. It was very affordable too. Finally, it was incredibly inexpensive. I also can't put into words how strong and well built this guitar is. I managed to afford mine at age 14 with a $3 per week allowance!

The only problem I had with it is that it has two knobs instead of three, which makes playing some more complex gigs difficult. The plastic body of the guitar also chips easily. Besides that I can't think of anything else bad about it.

Like I said before, it's amazingly well built, I dropped mine several times and while the plastic layer of the body chipped, the guitar's actual playing was never affected. You could probably shoot this thing with a bazooka and it'd still play fine .

This is a well built, great sounding guitar that I would highly recommend to beginners who want to get playing fast. I used mine to get a feel for a guitar and learn the basics for a low price until I felt ready to upgrade to a better guitar. For more skilled guitarists, this would make a great backup for when your main guitar is in the shop or can't be used. Guitarists who use Fender Telecasters of Stratocasters will feel right at home with this.

I bought this guitar with the GA-10 amplifier, strap, gig bag, and cord for $116(including shipping) on Ebay. I researched it on the web and found it to be a great deal.

Probably my favorite thing about this guitar is the fact that it has a humbucker. This makes it compatible with many more styles of music, especially more rock type music. The guitar is very light, thin, and has a reasonably fast neck. It also stays in tune fairly well. The guitar has pretty good tone for such a small price, and is easily upgradeable by putting a Seymour Duncan in or something like that.

This probably doesn't happen on most other units, but when I got mine, the pickup selector switch was very touchy. Sometimes I would be playing and in the middle of the song it will just stop producing sound. Before I play, I would have to strum, and then fiddle with the switch until it worked. I squirted some WD-40 in there the other night, and now it works fine. Another problem I have is when I play unplugged and strum hard, a buzzing sound comes from the tuners. It can't be heard through the amplifier, so no big deal. Other than that it seems fine, but the pickups are a little wimpy.

Other than the problem with the pickup selector switch I mentioned, the thing seems to be built great. I play quite often, and nothing is coming apart. It seems to be built pretty well.

This guitar probably shouldn't be bought if you're planning on gigging with it, but it makes a great first guitar. It's probably better than a Squier Strat, but don't expect too much out of this thing. As I said, for $75 you could buy a better humbucker and have a fairly decent guitar. If your shopping for your kid, this would make a great guitar(until he's on Good Morning America).

Made of Indonsie, 22 frets, 3 pickups (2 single and a humbucker for the bridge). The bridge is like Wilkinson, 5 position switch, one volume knob and one Tone. Output jack on the side and not on the table.
For the form is a copy of Fender Stratocaster russia enough I think. The neck is fairly typical Strato, but not too big.

UTILIZATION

The handle is quite enjoyable, it can only prs quality of this guitar. Access in acute is not bad, but good as on a Start, you can do better, and more often I play on the treble, so I was not drang.
It is pluttlgre, good ergonomics, it's a surprise.
As against the electronic is lousy, my switch is dead while she served a little rev, the mcaniques are piti and the bridge is unspeakable (IDAL to dsaccorder).
There gure that the violin that is watchable, and even if never having seen a real Strat amricaine, and not to disassemble the plate.

SOUNDS

In fact this guitar does not agree. To be clear, this is a casserole. I do not know even if the microphones would be good for my fridge magnets. Whatever the amp, the games, the style of music ... it's awful, it's one of espce bavement lamentable, it is cold, the output level of the threshold o frle we hear nothing. Anyway, it's awful.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this guitar for two years now, I never really progress, indeed I did not even want to play on this skyscraper. Premire is my guitar, I got it for 60 to OCCAZ, and believe me, I wonder if c'tait a case.
Today I plan to give him a makeover, I'm not resentful. New pickups, new electronics, new mcaniques ... What finally complete.

The handle is enjoyable trs, acute at the CHAC is very easy and you can play UNTIL last frets without much difficulty trs ergonomics is good, weight is r sonable and trs form is enjoyable, whether for a play stand or sit, you get a good sound very easy thanks to the handle trs enjoyable.

SOUNDS

It is well suited to my style of music, I play with a marshall MG15CDR overdrive channel mode, you get a sound that can range from the blues until the fat saturation through the old to the saturation or the ACDC classic play any of the songs, I love the treble as they sound easy and enjoyable to play trs.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years, I love its easy to play with the treble all with serious enjoyable, I have several SSAI MODEL This category but in guitar for beginners wishing to s 'and this report amliorer qualitprix I did not get any better. UTILIZATION

This is a beginner guitar but the interface is pretty nice the neck is fine and fast enough (although I would have preferred larger), last frets easily accessible. It is very light and provides well rehearsal and on stage, you can play longer without getting tired. In addition there are only two pots so for sound, plug and play.
Note the crappy vibrato and unusable.

SOUNDS

For a beginner guitar it sounds really good! The single-coil sound as well (see more) a strat Mexico, for against, low-end microphones obliged, it hums a lot, but with the right mix of pots it out.

I have this little Indonesian for 1 year 1 / 2, and it has never failed. Very good investment to start electric guitar is versatile and possesses a more than respectable. on the other hand once we know what kind of sound it is sought quickly shows its limits and it is better to opt for a new skyscraper that to make a change in pickups (medium quality wood, vibrato unusable, cabling means).
If I do it again this choice? If I were the son of Bill Gates not really, if not all Fauchere like me There's no problem. Either way I like it I will never sell, now is sentimental.

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice, access to acute is simple.
The form is simple, the guitar is light, this cot c'es nice.
I play a Fender Performer 650 amplifier, and I surprised susi sound of the guitar! For beginners it is a good choice. In his clear is superb (with the simple micro sleeve), and the double hold the road well in saturated fat, even if a prcis could be more.
Volume and tone knobs are well trs.

The big switch is the default which is littrallement shit ... Through the bridge, vibrato not terrible ... As feared the cot.

SOUNDS

I play prog, large mtal the small rock and managed everything.
As I said I have good sound all the cots for a guitar this price.

OVERALL OPINION

A good guitar for beginners, a good sound for not too expensive. After a rest a little guitar, do not expect too much from him but I'm happy.

UTILIZATION

Actually, I tried several guitars before making my choice (guitar beginners course such as a Squier Start ,...) and I have the flash on it due to its weight ( trslgre) strat lgrement modified form and especially the comfort of the handle is going great my hand: it is not too late, just right!
As for the game, Access in acute enough planks of its shape, but I had some problem of rglage to beginners: the E string and Friesland es on Premire freight and it took several rglage before obtaining a satisfactory playing comfort.
The sound is trs Corret for this range of guitar, do not forget that this is a first prize and then a guitar for beginners. The clean sound is good trs in the bridge position and middle position humbucker or humbucker + alone with the sound distortion is really nice!
A not all of the same origin as the strings are relatively fair (see mdiocre average quality) and dtail small, white rear plate on the black guitar is bizarre, even if trs is not visible!

SOUNDS

This is just scratching should (my opinion) styles for rock, punk, ...
Do not try to do with mtal! It's not a big obtiend to the metal.
But on a Marshall MG15CDR gives its not bad at all, adding that a Boss DS-1 pedals and turn and jou! I had the opportunity to test a MG100DFX and its a potato!
The clean sound and distortion sounds great! it's a real pleasure over jou!

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for 6-7months, I played before on a folk, and I found the same comfort of playing on two guitars.
I think it's a good guitar for beginners, not too difficult (if not a few strings to SETTING THE beginners), it does not dsaccorde (or trs tr s low) and above it is lgre! I had the chance to essay a Les Paul copy (very heavy) and well I must say that the weight of it made me realize the comfort of lgret!

For my part I bought this guitar at my dealer for 179, I find that the report is qualitprix trs trs intrssant!
If I had to redo the choice of a guitar for beginners (with a limited budget I would resume it blow!
Recommended for all beginners to learn, improve and also for rpt 'and small concerts!
