hey gang, God of the dead is here.

Love the dead metal distorted screamin guitars. I have a complete studio, but the thing is that switching between figuring out all the buttons on the mixer, and the ins and outs of my software, discovering another cool nasty riff on the guitar, playing my depression away on the piano etc. etc. has left me with a very superficial understanding of all my equipment.

I used to say if I had this and that, I'd be famous too!

now I have the this and the that and look at me. Still no screamin girls on my butt!!

how the hell do they do it?

In all my songs I have no room for vocal melodies. My guitars/ piano/... are already covering the entire melodic spectrum.

Songs on the radio sound so perfect, but try this, remove the vocals and listen to the instrumentation, damn it it makes no sence. If I'd play what they play I would not be satisfied with that lame sounding garbage... hardly any melody at all. But add the vocals and BOOM it sounds great.

Damn them.. damn them all.

The trick is (I think) come up with the vocal melody first.. then figure out the guitars.

But that does not make sence because the way I play is based on the mood I'm in. I grab the guitar and my hands just start playing. I have no idea how it will sound before hand??!!

any suggestions are very welcome.

and ohh yeah if you are living close by come on over and let me record you. I really need to start doing one thing at the time. Let me figure out what all those flashing lights and pretty buttons are for!
