Hello all,

I've been into home recording for some 13 years now. I still fondly remember the excitement when I got my Tascam cassette PortaStudio and started recording my own songs. That was then, and this is now, and I've found out one truth: Over time things break. I've started putting together a computer based system to use with my outboard gear, and any advice regarding soundcards, appropriate software, etc. would be welcome.

I'm also shopping for power amps and monitors, and any advice on this is also welcome, keeping in mind that like many others I don't have a lot of $$$$ to spend on this.
