Great Guitar
Published on 07/24/16 at 16:341 photoVery universal instrument. Great workmanship,Sounds excellent,Very different setup from a regular Telecaster but, usable tones and, plays nicely. Even thought this Telecaster is made in Mexico is it a Great value. I own a 1976 American Telecaster and, this Mex Tele is a comparable guitar. Play through 1965 Fender Twin Reverb. I play Classic Rock and, Country and, this guitar fills the bill.00 - ricou le morfalou

UTILIZATION
The handle is a treat, varnished satin seems very pleasant to the touch, it does not catch and just slide it takes to remain accurate. I had tried other Tele once the handle seemed odd, very thick with a profile rather highlight that bothered me. This telecaster has a profile rather modern handle.
Question ergonomics is what a Tele! With its rustic side, the cut with a jigsaw (well it is a metaphor), its electronic configuration minimalist but highly effective and does not need to prove table is a Tele!
SOUNDS
It is carved in rock guitar, blues, Tex-Mex pickups crunchent perfectly. It also contains the twang so special on TV, when I made the generic James Bond, we believe it!
Great for rock, mainly rhythmic sustain short, however, do not expect to play the furious solo Parisienne Garry Moore with this guitar.
It will obviously add him an amp worthy of the name for this guitar gives the best of itself.
Intermediate positions kinds strat make a very versatile this guitar. It can thus straying from its primary vocation!
OVERALL OPINION
Very good guitar, bought on a whim, I have never regretted.
I love everything about this guitar!
A small negative point, however, it must be one or you'll think I'm biased because everything still madly in love ...
The bridges are 6 in number, and I have problems with the bridge of the string If the height goes awry fairly regularly, and after the rope frieze. I'll get the brake fluid net to try to overcome this problem.See less40 - MGR/Vic Peppler

Its Great full stop. Its a telecaster which is a brilliant guitar in general. Its attractive, brown sunburst on turtle shell pick guard. It sounds amazing, texas pick uos with the addition of a texas Strat pick up in the middle position and is very adjustable. It has a whole customised vibe to it, the strat pick up, old style kit, turtle shell scratch plate, chunky neck and frets etc. This is certainly a unique guitar that looks great, sounds great and is great. It isnt even as heavy as your average Telecaster.
Only one thing- That would be the bridge. Its a pressed vintage unit with the words fender pressed onto the plate. below the pick up its a rough pressed finish whilst above its polished. This has no other effect than aesthetics although its isnt particularly nice. This I imagine is to restore a vintage appeal although could be mis-construed as being cheap but its not really that bad. It'd also be nice to see the Feb=nder name on the neck join plate.
Brilliant. Not a single problem as yet. Tiny marks are a result of the shop, not production, nothing to moan about.
Buy one if you like Telecasters but find some of their necks a little thin. Buy one if you like plenty of versatility in your sound. Buy one if you like attractive guitars that work well. Buy one if you like a unique and differnt design. Buy one if you like the following-
country, blues, jazz, classic rock, heavy rock, heavy metal, grunge, pop-rock, punk, alternative- in fact anything.

Fender Power Telecaster

I am playing mostly Country music now, and my faithful Yamaha RG series just couldn't get the "twang" I was looking for. I went for the "Power" model hoping to duplicate acoutic tones to avoid swapping guitars in the middle of playing.

The 3 Tex-Mex pickups sound great, everything from Country twang to great blues growl. If you want metal, thoguh, go elsewhere. That's not what this guitar was made to do.
The Fishman Power Bridge is capable of more than I've been able to do with it so far. By itself, it sounds good, but not great. When blended in with the regular pickups, though, it adds a great dimension to the sound. Fills it out nicely.
I think the trick to getting the most out of the Fishman bridge is to split the signal (Guitar comes with a splitter cord) and send the acoustic signal to a different amp than the electric signal. Then you could tweak the amp to get the best tone out of each. I hope to take the time to play with this soon.
Shallow as it sounds, I like playing a guitar that looks country. You can't beat a Fender Tele with the Brown sunburst finish.
To change batteries (power for the pieze bridge pickup), you must unscrew an access plate in the back. The battery seems to last a long time (I've yet to change it in 4 months of playing), but I am concerned about wear and tear after 10 - 20 years. It would have been nice if Fender had put in metal inserts for the screws, or had a pop open access door.
The guitar seems very well made. The finish is excellent.
The only problem I have had is some intermittant noise from the output jack. The Fender repair facility near me assures me they can fix it right up (under warranty) as soon as I am wiling to part with the guitar long enough for them to fix it.
While not an inexpensive guitar, it is a good buy for the money. Very versatile sound, play great and looks great.
If it were ever destroyed or stolen, I would replace it as quickly as possible.

What i don't like? I there was one downside about the guitar i would have to say that it is the fact it doesn't have a vibrato bridge. But it really isnt a major problem.
Its well made as you would expect from fender due to the workmanship gone in to it. I reckon in ten years time the guitar will not have changed much, though it isn't a very heavy guitar when you old it you know its a sturdy piece of work.
If you want a tele and want to be a bit different and want a guitar with a bit of crunch then this is the one to choose. If you play assorted types of music like myself then this is the ideal choice.

Well I have had the guitar for about 2 months and the intonation is kind of bothering me. I'll tune it perfectly but in other areas of the fretboard notes sound like they are out of tune. I tried everything including a lot of adjusting and its still being a pain. Everything else is wonderfull except for the tuning.
It feels solid and well put together but the day I got from musiciansfriend I already had to adjust the truss rod which is a pretty bad sign. But everything else looks like it can definitely last.
If this guitar had a locking system and just a tad more sustain in its output then I wouldnt be thinking about trading it for a different guitar. If you get this guitar, just change the bridge saddles to Graphs strat style tele saddles for easier adjustments and longer string life.

To these ends, this works well. The guitar plays well, looks good...so what's the problem, right?
My problem with the guitar is the bridge, and the new pickup and switch. Call me a traditionalist or a purist, but this guitar just is not for me. I can see how it would be an appealing fit for a lot of pickers, but I just think the new additions detract from the whole Tele experience. The bridge of a Tele should have brass saddles in my opinion, and these rolled steel saddles just do not get the cutting attack that I want in a Tele. Also, my favorite setting on a Telecaster - the middle setting, where the neck and bridge pickups are active - this setting is not available on this guitar. Bummer.
SOUNDS
The guitar suffers in the sound category due to the areas I listed above. The neck position sounds good, and the bridge position sounds good. The "in-between" sounds are good, but not exactly "Strat-like" as one would hope. It's like the Fender designers wanted the best features of a Strat and a Tele smashed into one guitar, yet they got something that ends up falling a bit short.
OVERALL OPINION
I'm giving it a 7. My review makes it sound like I like it less than I do - it's really a good guitar. But it is a disappointing guitar, because it takes away the best parts of a Tele, and tries to put in some good Strat features and doesn't quite succeed. The result is a new axe, something different than either of them separately, but I'm just a die-hard old-school Tele and Strat fan, I guess, so messing with that formula to me is a bit sacreligious. Don't buy if you're a purist, but do buy if you like Teles but want them to make a few more sounds.See less20 - Marc0Published on 08/20/06 at 11:50 (This content has been automatically translated from French)The mocèle I speak of is Black.

Can be accessed without too much inconvenience to the 21 boxes. The guitar is medium weight, just right. The body is that of a telecaster, but more comfortable, fairly thick and the edges rather prominent.
The vintage mechanical type heads are very easy, accurate. The bridge is not against by high quality, rust is not fast enough and great finish.
SOUNDS
This is a really versatile guitar, without suit styles "extreme" (trashmetal, hardcore ,...) she feels at home anywhere.
The audio is also versatile, thanks to microphones, the lipstick is very shiny and smooth, typical fender, microphones strats do not lack brilliance. If the preferred domain is the clear sound, it does very well in distortion. Obviously it has no gain, all the microphones being single coils.
Basically, one more for the lipstick and the versatility of sound. A 9 is required.
OVERALL OPINION
This is not (as many guitars that I had to pay) mine, but I tried it many times, it's a great guitar, I do aps too personal style Tele but even when I was seduced by its charm in its clear and its versatility (I did not suspect for a Fender Tele).
Ultimately, an 8 overall, which would have been a 9 if the bridge was not so shabby compared to the rest of the guitar.See less10 - moussorangePublished on 09/16/08 at 15:22 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Origin: Mexico 1998

I'm actually a pretty big fan of the MIM guitars considering how cheap they are on the used market. They're very solid players, and this is no exception. The fretwork on this model wasn't too bad. There were some sharp edges, but it's somewhat to be expected in the MIM lineup. The overall guitar was put together very well. Everything feels just like it would if you had a normal tele, and I find the middle pickup doesn't really get in the way, but that totally depends on the player.
SOUNDS
The stock pickups in this are pretty crappy. I recommend replacing them if you're looking at this model. Once you do, this guitar really comes alive. The guitars tend to resonate very well given their price range, and the added middle pickup gives you that great Stratocaster "quack" that has become so famous in the rock world.
OVERALL OPINION
If you're on the hunt for a more versatile tele that doesn't break the bank, this is a model worth checking out. It's a solid player's guitar, and they go for a nice price in the used market. You'll want to replace the pickups, but that's not a huge deal. I highly recommend trying one out before you buy as the fretwork can be iffy depending on how the luthiers were feeling at that particular time of day.See less00 - jef971
