Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus

Note: this is the first time that Fender guitars is manufactured in China. The handle says "modern c" is the same as most U.S. and Mexico models. I mention this because the pubs and some sellers tend to believe that the sleeves of the Modern Player series are more manageable than others. It is not Ibanez! The true color is a kind of transparent black.
At first it's weird to see a telecaster with such a configuration. The model I tested is finished, however the volume buttons and tone are a little twisted on their axis.

UTILIZATION

So nice and comfortable handle typical Fender. Usual telecaster shape with a largely bearable weight.

SOUNDS

Versatility with double which is splittable. It's very nice to have a Tele in his sleeve and a humbucker in the bridge. It was a sort tele mixture stratovolcano and pseudo-Gibson but not twang. Why did not someone think of this sooner?
Microphones crunchent more easily than on other series but keep their sound including the Fender humbucker.

OVERALL OPINION

Once again Fender hits hard in marketing while targeting other customers face tough competition.
So pleasant and affordable guitar for beginners or confirmed spoiled.

The Fender Telecaster Modern Player Plus is Chinese but has a configuration of microphones as Swiss Army Knife: Tele humbucker (bridge), Strat single coil (middle) and Tele single coil (neck). Moreover, it has a unusual body pine. Most Teles are carved alder or ash, but it must be remembered that Leo Fender built some of the first models in Esquire pin.
Finish "Charcoal Transparent" (= coal) is original but actually much darker than most pictures, and just guess the wood grain beneath the veneer.

UTILIZATION

It is indeed a Tele for "Modern Players" seeking to make the largest possible number of tones of this classic frame: a set so comfortable and modern, with 22 jumbo frets, a maple neck in profile C, a maple fingerboard also.
Very good overall finish, everything is set to the factory.

SOUNDS

The implementation of the humbucker position humbucker will satisfy any addict gain, with enough energy to play old-school rock and even metal.
Divide the micro coil provides crystal clear sound, but with a consequent loss of output level. A boost pedal is welcome here.
In this position, combine this with the middle micro style Strat (single coil) offers beautiful clean tones and overdrive to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix and Curtis Mayfield.

Configuration Tele classic neck pickup is perfect for a light saturation blues and jazzy arrangements.

Overall, the sound of these pickups are very nice, warmer and less clattery than the Squier Classic Vibes I have elsewhere.

It should be noted that in the absence of a traditional easel, there are very few on this guitar twang characteristic of Telecasters, and it is difficult to assess the contribution of the body pine tone that Tele, compared traditional models with alder or ash.

OVERALL OPINION

In conclusion.

- Goodies:
• The price for the quality Fender.
• The variety of sounds.
• The very good playability.

- Cons:
• Configuration can be confusing microphones (for a Tele).
• The look?

Admittedly, this is not the prettiest or most typical Telecasters, but if your musical tastes range from country to metal through the good old rock 70'-90 ', this is a guitar that gives you really for your money! In rehearsals, recording sessions and on stage, the Fender Modern Player Tele Plus gives you a wide variety of sounds without using modeling.

First I received yesterday the guitar brand new set properly

The arrangement of microphones is rather surprising

However the general appearance looks good to the original Telecaster

The wood grain fir is really pretty

The handle end is very polish a habit

The sound is rather surprising from the TV by Strat with crystal clear sound
and thanks to the humbucker sound fat and powerful but not really, but Gibson but passing very well in distortion

Polivalente a brief guitar in every sense of the term

I would do this choice but I hesitated a long time and I'm not disappointed

not only beautiful and effective I compare to my old Telecaster Made in Mexico with its featureless
Although the single coil pickups as usual pressure with a hand in the double is fabulous yet it is certainly not a luxury
