« The tremolo Swiss Army knife! »
Published on 08/22/14 at 15:36For purely technical features I let you go on the website of the brand.
Two unusual features to note:
-The Monitoring of the battery (the LED indicates if the battery level is too low)
-a function to link the pedal to start a second Suhr pedal simultaneously from the first.
The pedal is provided with a tap tempo function the switch is a bit unusual (new sensation ... I was accustomed to "click" conventional switches).
Another point, the pedal is equipped with four small rubber pads for stability. It will take them off if you want to mount the pedal on your pedalboard.
UTILIZATION
The pedal is very easy to use.
There are the classic settings (Rate, Depth, Level), a knob waveform very effective to obtain a multitude of shades and a toogle switch to subdivide the wave.
A look at the manual (downloadable from the website) will still be needed to fully understand how the Tap Tempo function and Strum.
SOUND QUALITY
Potentially this pedal can generate all conceivable tremolo sounds (see above ...). Coupled to an octave waveforms "Ramp" and "Reverse-Ramp" can simulate a synth sound. Rest assured the pedal is also known to be more wise and you also get easily a vintage tremolo classic.
The pedal is very well designed, it is silent and produces very little noise.
Final point of interest, the level knob can be used as real boost (by setting the rest to 0).
OVERALL OPINION
In the end, this pedal is for me one of the best quality / function / price effect all confused reports. Many tremolo pedals shops whose prices are very close are far from being as versatile and concentrate as many functions.
