«  A small problem »

It is a complete tube amp with a power 5 Watt. Do not hesitate to go all the explanations on the manufacturer's website because it explains how they did so for a small power amp to give its full potential.
For the main features:
2 channels (clean and overdrive)
Volume 1 set to clean channel
Setting a tone for the clean channel
2 Volume and Gain settings for the overdrive channel
4 settings for the overdrive channel: Bass, Medium, High and ISF famous for channel overdrive
1 digital reverb
1 speaker 12 "
An emulated headphone output (1x12 or 4x12 HP) can also be used for recording
An effects loop
1 output for external speaker
An MP3 input
A pedal to change the channel

What more could you want ...

UTILIZATION

Amp very easy to understand. The manual can be useful if one wishes to connect external speaker and you do not want to miss the impedance to choose from.
The sounds of this amp are magical in the sense that there a huge pallet of possibilities. Their famous ISF is interesting, it should be noted that mail is only active on the channel Overdrive.

SOUNDS

The clean channel is very basic: a volume control and a tone. Simple but effective. Above by plugging a guitar equipped with Humbucker (Gibson Les Paul Standard for me) we arrive at a crunch that I love pushing the volume. If you put a guitar with single coil pickups (Fender Classic Player 50's Stratocaster for my part), the sound is clear and crystal-clear even when pushing the volume.
Overdrive channel meanwhile has more settings, but remains easy to use. Mics with guitars or Single Coil Humbucker, this amp to find the sound so desired (the sound in your head is the slogan of the brand Blackstar)

OVERALL OPINION

I owned a combo Blackstar HT-5 that was already really good for resale later against a Blackstar HT Studio 40, also very good but too heavy for a combo, which I then sold for the new combo Blackstar.
I have a Marshall JVM-205H with a Marshall 1936 Lead cabinet and I wanted something more portable. Blackstar and will do.
It is exloitable at home, you can connect a headset, put an MP3 player, really a lot more. I plugged into my Marshall cabinet is here we can hardly say that this is a 5 watt amp.
I had much fun with the Blackstar HT-5 first version, as I'm sure I would have with it since the designers have added the little things missing.
The advantage of this amp is that it is sufficient unto itself. In my opinion it requires no extra pedal. Possibly in an effects loop for a period or other modulation effects, but its voccation first is its flexibility and weight that make it an ideal companion for travel.
In my opinion this little amp will make a killing ... For guitarists shopaholics: prepare your awards ...
