Budda Superdrive 30 1x12 Combo

Nice amp and basically the same as the 18 watts version feature wise but with double the wattage. You get the same great tone but added headroom with the added wattage. This is very warm amp that has an almost perfect voicing for the Brown sound or hot-rod Marshall tone. The tones is a thick chewy extremely organic ton.

First off this amp is ugly as hell. Nothing about the amp cosmetically is appealing what so ever. From the stupid purple color to the hideous control knobs. It is as Budda set out to make a pure ugly amp and would stop at nothing to achieve that feat. A hand clap goes out to you guys on a job well done, mission accomplished. However, the amp sound amazing!!! Just hide it behind a Marshall on stage and see if anyone takes notice of how your tone sounds.

SOUNDS

I love the sound of this amp. I never gave them much thought because of how ugly they are and I particularly don't like the name of the amp. However, after hearing it played on several different occasions I was pleasantly surprised at the rich thick distortion that cam from these speakers.

The tones on this amp are extremely fat sounding. They resonate very well with a humbucker style pickup guitar. Especially if you use a superstrat like Charvel or a Suhr guitar. Using a nice maple neck on top of alder body will get that fat tone to open up a lot more to get clean distorted note and string separation. Very great tone for rock and pop music.

OVERALL OPINION

I am not sure what the street price is on this amp right now. I know that they are decently priced for a boutique amplifier company. They have a interesting look on the front and many guitarist probably don't go for the purple guitar amps like Jimi used too. To my ears though this is a must own guitar amp for these small gigs or even for use as a recording amp.

I would recommend this amp to anyone needing a fat sounding distortion tone very similar to a Soldano SLO and don't want to fork out the money to buy one of those.

This is an all-tube amplifier, delivering 30 watts.
Lamps: 3x12ax7 in preamp, power and 4xEL84 1x5U4G for correction.
Electronically, it is a Class AB amplifier. I compared a Class A amp (4xEL84), we find the same dynamic, the same clarity the same depth.
To set the power level, the rendering of 30 watts to 30 watts is similar to one of MATCHLESS DC/SC30 or VOX AC30 ... and are therefore not comparable to 30 watts for a Peavey Classic 30. So on that scne or rpeter dlivre potential.

The front panel includes, from left to right, the power switches and Standy, setting the MasterVolume, EQ common to the two channels (bass / Medium / Treble), the gain of channel 2, the channel gain 1, the instrument between the connector and footswitch.
The gain setting of channel 1 is a pull / push that activates the function "bright".
Switching between two channels can be done via the footswitch recess, but also by a pull / push rglage situ on the Master Volume.

UTILIZATION

Make a sound on this amp is very simple, once one knows its operation and features. It must first be the sound of the channel 2 (drive), by first adjusting the master volume, then drive, then to the final equalization.
A good basic Bass / Treble and Mediums 10h30/11h 12h, 10h ... quelquesoit master the guitar.
Enuiste it adjusts the level of channel 1 and activates the bright if necessary.
Tone settings are very interactive, while remaining IMMEDIATE: it is not necssaire to spend hours to make a sound (such as certain Boogie). So the number of sonic possibilities is quite big.

Cot styles possible with this amp, I do not really see other restrictions may be the metal ... albeit with a baffle ADEQUATE ....

SOUNDS

The overall sound is very organic and warm trs.
The definition and articulation of the two audio channels are exceptional.
This is the type of amplifier that makes you quickly understand if you do not know dja, the sound of a guitar is mainly in his fingers. All the nuances and playing qualities are rendered wonders. What is not "Fun" is that it's the same for defects ....
The personalities are respected guitar branches see magnified. It takes pedals well trs .... last at least all the ones I was able to connect.
Channel 1 is clearly the VOX AC30, with a touch of modernity supplmentaire. the coup is close to a trs MATCHLESS DC30. The volume control can go from clean and clear as crystal a slight crunch absolutely magical, through sounds and soft jazz trs trs round.
The channel provides a choice of two worlds:
With a gain MODR trs (9/10h), we find ourselves in the world of Robben Ford or Larry Carlton ... compltement "Dumblelisant". Always with great dynamics and articulation.
With a little more gain (11h), we find ourselves in a head marshall JTM45 or Plexi. And always with great DEFINITIONS.
Beyond the 12, the "brown Marshall" the VH, with a lot of natural compression, the hamon in every way ....
For résumé, I join the opinion on the SuperDrive 45: trs amp is versatile plant ..... sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 7 years now, I am absolutely delighted and I still to redcouvrir. If I Devaya remake that choice today, it would be yes.
The only criticism I have of him another time, the choice to make in terms of gain on channel 1 volume to achieve a balance between the two channels.
I compared other amps recess, and I possde others, and although paradoxallement trs versatile, it has a very unique personality.
Cot report quality price, difficult to get an objective opinion, in the sense that if the family of sounds that dlivre is what we seek with this process / transparency / articulation sound and well we do not end up on another amp, nor has any other prize.
Now I must admit it's a high end amp, cheap, poorly distributed and who MRIT ...... ... in every sense of the word.
