Budda Superdrive V20 1x12 Combo

The voicing of this amp appeals to me a little bit more than the 18 and 30 series amps. Don't know what it is but only a slight different in tone but juts a little more preferable to me.

First off this amp is ugly as hell. Nothing about the amp cosmetically is appealing what so ever. From the stupid purple color to the hideous control knobs. It is as Budda set out to make a pure ugly amp and would stop at nothing to achieve that feat. A hand clap goes out to you guys on a job well done, mission accomplished. However, the amp sound amazing!!! Just hide it behind a Marshall on stage and see if anyone takes notice of how your tone sounds.

SOUNDS

The tones on this amp are extremely fat sounding. They resonate very well with a humbucker style pickup guitar. Especially if you use a superstrat like Charvel or a Suhr guitar. Using a nice maple neck on top of alder body will get that fat tone to open up a lot more to get clean distorted note and string separation. Very great tone for rock and pop music.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come in at around $1600 which may be a bit high for a lot of people, but the tone is extremely good. If you can get over how stupid these amps look.

I would recommend this amp to anyone needing a fat sounding distortion tone very similar to a Soldano SLO and don't want to fork out the money to buy one of those.

UTILIZATION

The amp is ultra-simple and quickly gets the desired sound
The small manual and do not remember much but select 8 ohm for bowl
There is a small fuse just below the socket is a bit light. The manufacturer prescribes a 800mA and must be cut switch frankly if the fuse blows easily. It happened to me and is pissed to find this kind of fuse except on the net.

SOUNDS

Purchased from Muzikia (Paris - Sebastopol) I fell on my ass listening to one of the vendors make his MIDI break on different budda with it but 18 w is not so good ...
Attention elsewhere, it rocks and I quickly locked the volume levels lower. I thought that 20 W would be sufficient for my studio but it's huge 2!
Consider an attenuator Db

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for clean sounds or slightly crunchy.
This is THE sound I'm looking for years.
For the lead channel, it sounds vintage but I prefer to get a pedal for big sound and use the clean channel
The price / quality ratio is very correct. I believe craftsmanship and beautiful finish.
This amp is of very high quality
I recommend ears closed

The Buddha is a V20 tube combo not very heavy for its size and especially for the power it clears ...

UTILIZATION

So, simple configuration settings of the amp, with small zippers and more to increase the range of sounds.
Especially since it is hard not to make it sound this amp. This is not the amp versatile of all trades, it is restricted in a range of sounds Blues, rock but it is so comfortable in these sounds ...
And of course, that said tube amplifier, said the more you ride the more it sounds and the gain increases ...

SOUNDS

As soon as one branch of his guitar in this amp, it sounds live, and we also see very quickly the comparison with another tube amp of lower bill will seem to sound like a small box next to the V20 (comparison made with the Orange TH 30). EQ settings: low-enveloping sound well without drooling and without exaggeration
- The medium which is most sculpts the sound of this amp. They can dig with zipper and metal-type sound bigger, although it lacks some gain (damage). But the mids to really give this amp its personnalitée, not garish at all as some mediums are great and therefore it follows very well the other instrumentals group.
- The treble knob is playing this role are very similar and balanced manner without exaggeration

The rhythm channel (light): beautiful, the pull tab button to move to rhythm allows crystal clear sound, but not as much as a more typical blues Orange and turning the knob the rhythm crunch superbly with Cream Sauce dynamics. it is my Budda V20 that wins the most beautiful crunch

The Drive channel with a very fine grain as it is in continuity with the crunch on rhythm but edgier and a bit more compressed. it sounds bold but still accurate, all the notes and harmonics ring and stand out well.
The sound is not compressed and it sounds ORGANIC TRUE. No frequency is by another puff. The Drive knob takes us to an honorable level gain rock sound, but to go further in the heavy, hard, add a distortion on top, like for leads to where we need lots of sustain.

OVERALL OPINION

Here, I use this amp for over 6 months, rehearsals, concerts ...
His sound has completely charmed me when I tried it in the shop and it's really organic sound that I tried, with personality.

Attention to the master mini apartment neighbors down anyway ... I use one of the coup db attenuator and it passes.

Clear, beautiful and distos reagents, perfect for blues, rock.
I wish the drive to go a little further down the disto but is satisfied with the quality can be seen adding a distortion pedal ...
