Mine is modified (changed lamps known brand and HP replaced by a CELESTION V8). little additional investment is easily justified given the qualities already present.
The look is vintage, I personally am a fan.
The finish is flawless.
UTILIZATION
We obtain easily the "lights", just put the three-quarter gain and volume to 9. There is very powerful (watch out for neighbors) but do not panic, then just play with volume and tone of his guitar to tame all that.
SOUNDS
It is easy to summarize, only one word to describe this little 5 watt: PERFECT. It's hot, it's powerful velvety crunch it, it responds to the slightest touch. we say more?
the reverb is really good.
The clear sound stands up very well but the crème de la crème of this amp is the crunch very fat bloody good. With humbuckers (I have a Gibson les paul) is simply amazing for a 5 watt.
OVERALL OPINION
I have owned a few different power amps before this one (modeling, transistor, lamp). So I know exactly what I want, what makes me love or not.
My criterion was: reasonable price, its quality lamps, great looks, reasonable power to play at home, easy removal).
While searching one day in a shop, the biggest chance I tried a Bugera 1990 (head 4X12 cab). I fell in love, it is terrible, but far too powerful for moi.C is therefore natural that I started looking for the small 5-watt mark.
Mine is equipped with an HP CELESTION which greatly improves its quality. Ok, a critic, HP 8, which makes her a bit cramped. Anyway, I thought before buying. It is quite normal and in no way a criticism.
This is the first time I put a 10/10 rating on all points.
