It is an all-tube combo, copiously driven, pre-amp section, a mix-8 lamps 12AX7 and 12AT7. The connection is more complete with, to the rear panel, adjustable effects loop send and return, an outlet and a "Preamp" entry, an additional HP socket, a socket for the footswitch, power and standby. One outlet on the instrument front panel.
The "Clean" channel offers two very different sounds: clean type Vibrolux very slamming and a clean type Bassman, fat and round, it has a 2-band EQ "bass" and "trebble" and a volume.
Channel "Burn" has two gains, waterfall, a 3-band EQ and volume.
To the right of the front panel, still, is the setting of the reverb.

Here is a combo particularly well endowed with functions, settings and channels, and an exemplary finish that exudes quality.
It is found around 1450 €.
Perfect.

UTILIZATION

The configuration shows both simple and complete. Simply because the combo immediately authorizes a superb sound, complete because of its 3 channels (clean 2) and EQ that is very effective. Get good sounds, because this combo offers a range of sounds from a rare wealth is within immediate reach, find a staff that fits the musical style is just as easily, insofar as this is not the Supersonic first amp that we have.
As I suggested above, the EQ reveals a rare efficiency. Whether on the clean channel lacks settings medium or the Burn channel providing three Trebble, Medium and Bass settings. Double réglalge gain permits, too, a multitude of sounds ranging from light to heavy distortion crunch through all shades of overdrive.

SOUNDS

The clean channel, or vintage, therefore offers two very different sounds: Vibrolux and Bassman.
The Vibrolux position is simply fantastic and I must say I've never heard of such a clean beauty crystalline, of course, never be aggressive even with LP in the bridge position, defined, rich in harmonics in short, the musical possible. Arpeggios sound with hairline and class while the rhythmic, without any effect, appear surprising fullness, and seat-definition intelligible and each separate note. This channel takes pedals perfectly front and modulation effects acquire a new dimension with this feeling of fullness of the sound material.

The Bassman position is almost the opposite: the sound is rounded, creamy, pulls the bass and lower midrange. Also on LP, but this time in the neck pickup position, the sound is jazzy, dark, but again, well articulated and defined. Arpeggios, rich in low frequencies, swell and the neck pickup (57 Plus or Burstbucker II) sounds superbly. I am less a fan of rhythm with this voicing simply because I prefer the Vibrolux position. Note that on the Bassman position, the amp Crunch fairly quickly with a Les Paul.
The Burn channel is capable of much, as the EQ shows both effective and gains cascade allow nuances in the level and grain. It was therefore provides a broad sound palette that ranges from mild crunch to a consistent level of distortion. The first gain plays on the amount of drive when the second brings thickness and compression depth. All styles of music can be played. Set from 15h, both gains provide a very long sustain and harmonically complex: we can talk about sound texture here as the notes sound rich and full with a violoning effect that I like.

OVERALL OPINION


It's been a long time I considered buying this combo. I recently tried in stores 22W version that reinforced my intention. And then, a great opportunity presented itself on the 60W version and I've acquired: 700 €, it is truly a great occasion, especially as the amp is absolutely like new !
I decided to 22W which is less than 1200 €, so I did not hesitate when I discovered the announcement of 60W.

I love Fender amps and I have owned many. The Supersonic is a higher class in all respects. Its features provide him a rare versatility, and in this price range, I do not see him competing in the musical style that I like: progressive rock. A sumptuous clean, precise and full drive sustain the Vibolux channel that takes pedals perfectly, an adjustable loops and silent effects, a palette of sounds that range from vintage to modern: this amp does it all and does it very well. The footswitch inspires confidence: rugged construction and quiet operation PERFECTLY (I use my cable manufacturing base Sommer SC The Source).

One caveat, however: the reverb takes a lot of breath as soon as they exceed 2 setting and at this level it is not much present. So I can not say much of anything. But I will look into this issue because, a priori, a small operation just to fix this. But this does not alter the 10/10 I give the combo because I always use a modulation effect and / or a delay which allows me to pass me completely reverb.

Now that I have tasted the rich sound and great qualities of this combo, it goes without saying that I do it again this choice without hesitation. This is the most amazing amp that I've played.

Amp 60 watts all lights out ... Two channels that reflect the mythical circuit Bassman and Vibrolux, a clear channel and saturated with dual drive (the 2nd most sculpts the sound that really adds to drive).

UTILIZATION

Manuel? What's the point? One branch and made his "sound." Sounds meet me. Apparently this amp divided. I use it for almost 2 years and I've tested a lot of other amps (Fender Blues Junior "canned" hot road (soulless), deluxe ...) and that was the sound I want; very dynamic, frankly no humming and power to get the dentures of my neighbor (who lives far away). It may be that I blame him elsewhere (to the amp not my neighbor) too powerful. With my group I'm on one and asked me almost fall (for rehearsals anyway). Super versatile and very nice if equipped with good lights amp.

This month, I decided to sell my VOX AC30, too heavy and reconnect with FENDER-So I orient myself to the SuperSonic 60w, amp for a certain class, remembering the qualities of the Prosonic - The box also reminds Blonde amps vinager - The connectors are very well thought out with a handy insert effects - Lamps Groove tubes are too dry for my taste, to replace or Tungsol Mullard - The Clestion Vintage 30 is the easy way powerful, cheap, but not like Fender, or are the good old Eminence ..

This amp is a real "killing" I've had a month and I am crazy with this amp I am not an expert on Fender amp since it's my first brand but I looked for clear sound, the the blues and a good distortion, sick of modeling and I have all the same amp a beautiful clear even at high volume though I can not currently exceed 2 or 3 on the volume that's the clear Vibrolux channel and the hot weather blues bassman for the channel and the three distos are beautiful of all types is the settings are always clear it sounds anyway really high-end I went from Xtlive pod and all these effects has a amp that sounds almost nothing just a little reverb and I do love the variety in training and small j ustilise are three or four and I do not regret at all the effects as compiled on the pods and other like.
the effects loop is a bit of the unknown I have tested it with the Pod and snoring at the moment I have nothing else I hope a little rocktron Tc or to stay at the same level ... that if I recommend for its ease of Use, the course and its huge originality and personality that changes the "boogie" but the taste and color ...

There are two channels vintage & burn.
On the channel is accessed two vintage voicing, Vibrolux and Bassman, which speak for themselves.
The saturations are reserved to the channel with two gains burn cascade.

I say bravo to Poweramp connections in and preamp out, my effects loop is completely silent sigh ... this is not the case for the amp.
I regret that the reverb is not switchable.
The unit comes with a footswitch 3 buttons and a cover (in principle). The footswitch controls the voicing Vibrolux / Bassman, channel vintage / burn and the effects loop.
Two large Velcro straps are provided inside of the amp against the wall of the cab to hang during transport (handy).
It has legs on the side to tilt.

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple.
It sounds as soon as one branch channel vintage. With both voicing is a success. This is not the lamps are supplied with the Retube and it will take to enjoy his Fender.
Retube is a wonder (change at least V1 V2 V3 and even)
I recommend the Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH (AT7 attention to both replace them, by AT7)
The manual would like two pages of the grip is not a problem anyway.
The lighting layout is displayed on a inside ... I had mine with the wiring diagram which seems rare. The diagrams are available on the Fender site.

V1: vintage / burn

No need to power attenuator, we can bypass the effects loop with a jack as indicated in the manual, by placing the volume and send at least return we get a sound the same sound with less volume. We can then increase the volume of its channel for more gain and that with a margin to a reasonable volume (see manual).
It works very well .. I use it often seems like too cold bias is a way to sound the amp without having to wake up the neighborhood.
It is imperative to try to saturation that sound good on better if you go up the volume or the bassman if you want to do cruncher.

I tested my rack in the entry "Poweramp in" the sound is good no complaints. For finer sounds, especially for clean sounds with effects I connected directly to the entrance with the Vibrolux voicing and there is superb.
The Vibrolux voicing agrees very well as acoustic guitars.
In this case the voicing bassman transforms sound into its vintage.

SOUNDS

Perfect for Fender telecaster and stratocaster with a Les Paul vintage channel is less impressive against the loadings are more accurate (Marshallesques).
Once retubed sound is magnificent. Volume to build on a sound strat were glassy / crystalline fender (even on the bassman). The sound "flows" naturally and the V30 is rather good job. It will take up a little volume (1) to begin to feel the Fender headroom. The time can be "breaking" the speaker to benefit from the headroom at low volume.
A cabinet (celestion alnico blue, weber blue dog) wins again in the sound scale, the pleasure is magnified.
It is a powerful amp, very powerful, like all Fender known, can be a part of the secret of sound.
Loadings are less attractive (with a bias to 38mv it better).
With a stratocaster is the well-saturated vintage that is provided (a strato saturated) with a Les Paul is different, the grain becomes clearer and we recognize a saturation type marshall with a tight grain.
Both gains cascade do not affect the grain, they change color saturation that can still be changed by the equalization offering a fairly wide range from crunch to saturated hard rock and fuzz sounds.
For metal I do not have microphones required so I can not say anything.
To improve this, especially with the stratum, it is advisable to review the bias of the amp set to 32mV cold home 38mv (manufacturer data).
This is my final adjustment and it's much better to all views.

The sounds are good ... once Retube for cleans and bias statement for the saturations. This is an amp that allows me if you're not too hard to do without pedals or at least temporarily.
I love the clean sounds wonderful principle provided with Satus so I put 10.

OVERALL OPINION

Favorable overall opinion except:
_ Is an amp that is in part Retube
_ Mine is noisy there is a hiss that persists even with the lights changed and the resitance of polarization of the floor concerned. (I had a lamp microphone, among others). This is a problem commonly found on the Fender forum so be careful to buy. The amp turned all the knobs to zero shall not make any noise, effects loop must be silent.
Finally, the bias should be set warmer.

So apart from the manufacturing concern facing Fender (or quality control) is a good amp but the price is unacceptable. I can only advise to test out the store to ask to make these changes if they are necessary to bring the device before it will avoid many round trip.

Apart from these few problems that can be found on some devices, including my own (probably on all the lights) is an amp endearing.
I wanted to buy a big twin but .. it's only twin.
So I eyed to the Prosonic but there is a sound like bassman that has nothing to do with the sound of the twin.
Here I have two very successful provided you change the lamps of the input stages.
The saturations are good with a Les Paul with a very vintage strat they will only improve once Retube.

For me the best amp I think .... keep it very long.
I leave my rack in the config "Poweramp in" and the sound is excellent ... plugged directly into the amp on channel vintage / Vibrolux is even better.
The Vibrolux voicing successfully accepts acoustic guitars ..

If this amp does not meet the success it deserves because:
_ It should Retube to benefit from clean Fender
_ We must check the bias set too cold
_ There are manufacturing problems and many amps are noisy
_ Is a powerful amp and is not thought to use it with the effects loop which allows shunted yet to turn up the volume of the amp to the area or it starts to ring and receive volume reasonable good saturation (too beautiful cleans with the bassman).

... That sound is the appointment ... I put 8 because of concerns of configuration that can meet ... otherwise this amp is a marvel when it works perfectly.

This is the exact same amp as the black standard or the oxblood wheat brown Super Sonic. This one has a black tolex, but the front grille cloth is a black salt and pepper looking front. Not exactly the standard salt and pepper but a verion that seems exclusive to Fender amps. I have never seen this grille cloth on other amp besides Fenders. In addition the control knobs are also black to match the rest of the amp. Same great features and tone as the other two, but just a deep midnight style amp.

This is one of the very best modern amplifiers that Fender has put out. This is more of a high gain amp for Fender but still keeping the vintage clean tones they are so famous for having. The amp have quite a bit of features compared to some of their more vintage styled amps. This one has a fat boost switch and also a reverb to add a bit of depth to the tone. I would call this a vintage modern amp for Fender.

I like this amp with all kinds of guitars, but mostly I like it with a Fender Stratocaster or a Charvel San Dimas or Socal. I like the light to medium tone of the ash and alder body woods. This compliments the nature of the amp quite well. The clean is very Fender sparkly and jangly. Then you go to channel two and having two gains is almost heaven. This is something you see on several boutique amplifiers. Suhr amps like the PT100 has a similar thing but theirs acts like another channel. This one just gives you deeper and juicy gain distortion.

OVERALL OPINION


If you need a good clean tone and a hot rod gainy distortion channel then this is your amp. The clean is remarkable and the gain has so much variation with the dual gains that is makes this amp a lot of fun to play.

One thing about this amp is the cosmetics of it are exceptional. The combination of the black on black on black is very sharp and I think takes a more modern look to the classic Fender amps. I think this look appeals to more non-traditional Fender amp users.

Having two channels and both are exceptional is a big bonus. I would recommend anyone to go and try this amp if you get the chance. You may or may not like the voicing but it is a solid amplifier.

This is a great amp that has all the same tone and features as the 2x12 version but just one less speaker. Surprisingly you do get three times the amount of wattage. The features are excellent and full of tone.

Unfortunately these amps are no longer being produced by Fender. At least I have not seen them new anywhere. I don't know what the used market price is for these units right now.

Again, I do not re-quote everything that the others have already noted. A nice amp, benefiting from two modes (Vibrolux and Bassman) and a vintage fashion and burn mode. Which, as its name does not indicate, has nothing to do with your family jewels but is supposed to add gain.

Note a real effect loop, effective, what is good for Fender amps, usually stingy for such options. But no second channel, which is bad. Except, of course, if you toggle the sound of the crunch bassmann-luxury vibrator, which has less gain, but not Peru anyway.

UTILIZATION

No, the configuration is not simple over-simplistic amps like the At Mars, the 65-amp lil elvis-king, or Retro plexi 18 completely intuitive. But also the family of Fender amps it seems a bit more complex. The addition of a conventional equalizer might do him good, but there are many different sounds and behaviors that can have this amp and knobs interact strongly with each other. So, it's the holy hack to find the sounds you love and everything does not necessarily sound good.

I enjoyed the fact that we could get a lot of different sounds and typical low volume. So, use at home or in cafe concert is quite possible.

A big "BOOUUUH" for background noise, this amp absolutely hilarious that emerges. This is very bad, any category Amp confused. One has the impression that someone vacuuming in the background. it spoils a lot of adventure. I would add that none of the other two Fender amps I've tried his hand had this defect, so we can exclude a problem of guitar, or cable industry.

The worst for last. The reverb on my amp was ineffective test. The seller told me it was broken. Amp on a nine that never left the store, it's disturbing.

From the outset, I found some real sounds. But I have not picked a slap. The width of the sound seems smaller than its counterparts or other good amps in this area, the crunch is a bit less natural and I feel a little more overall hardness, or Fender me there more often used to sound fluid and playful.

The sound "vibrator-luxury" was not to my taste, though I love the amps-luxury vibrators usual. By-cons, I appreciated the fact that you can also play a few more things on the saturated amplifier. Suddenly, my grade is severe. This amp sound is assured. But I regret that the sounds are a little ways. He had experimented a lot with the receiver to find its full potential. But even at full capacity, it remains a little behind when compared to what is currently (headstrong, fender, carol-ann to name a few).

I regret very much, by-cons, the high background who surfed in the background. it makes it unusable in the studio to higher volumes. We hear, there's not shit.

Basically, this amp is fender that the dsl is Marshall. Not a crap, but there has been much better.

UTILIZATION

Ultra easy setting, the amp is very easy to use especially with the footswitch for channel selection and effects.

The 3-channel (two clean channels) design provides a wide sound range. You'll surely find the sound you're looking for.

It allowed me to put away most of my effects pedals: I simply plug in and play, it's a dream come true!

I play almost everything with this amp. The included documentation provides setting examples but they are not necessary because the amp is very easy to use and sounds well with every setting.

The amp is not too heavy (53 lb.) for a 60-watt tube amp. In that sense it's very convenient (especially if you compare it with my Twin Amp) considering it's a combo so you don't need a van to transport the head plus the speaker cabinets.

SOUNDS

When it comes to the sound, this amp is the most versatile I know:

- The clean channels provide the whole Fender sound range thanks to the Bassman and Vibrolux modes. It's unbeatable and you can play any music style you like. I tested the amp with other tube types (change at least V1 and V2, and even V3) and I got a wonderful sound with Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH tubes. I also tested Jan Philips 5751 tubes, which I actually ended up keeping for good because they provide the brilliant sound I was looking for.

- Distortion sound: Finally Fender excels at distortion!

I was surprised to see that Nono (Trust's guitarist) plays with this amp live because Fender isn't exactly famous for its distortion sound, but now I know why he does...

Thanks to the dual gain stages in the lead channel I can finally put all my distortion pedals away (I like plugging the guitar directly into the amp). The dual gain stages don't alter the sound character of the amp but produce different distortion colors. The EQ section adds additional sound shaping possibilities to provide an almost endless sound range.

Add the spring reverb and you get a fully comprehensive package.

The amp has only 60 watts of power, which is average for this amp type (Twin amp = 100 watts, Marshall even more, etc.).

I personally play at home and set the volume control between 2 and 3 and the sound is really nice.

Like with every tube amp it's very interesting to overdrive the power stage with higher volume settings, but I don't know many tube amps that won't disturb your entire neighborhood if you do. Even the Deluxe 65 with its 22 watts gets really loud if you want to overdrive it to get a crunch sound.

But thanks to the distortion range provided by the dual gain stages of the Supersonic, you can get an overdriven sound without having to increase the volume. The lead channel provides a wonderful light overdrive I use to play blues (it's a breeze with my Gibson ES335). (Those who want to overdrive the power stage of their tube amp can always turn to a power attenuator like the Koch LoadBox LB120).

OVERALL OPINION

I've been owning it for two years and it's the first amp I haven't had to bring to a technician for repair: I've never had a single problem, not even with a fuse (not true: the small blue power LED burned out and I had to buy a new lightbulb!).

I own three other amps (two Fender and a Roland Jazz Chorus). Each has its own style but they sound nice but are not very versatile. On the contrary, the Supersonic is unsurpassed when it comes to versatility.

It's true that it's quite expensive but it offers huge sound possibilities and makes effect pedals needless.
