Marshall Class 5 Combo [2009-2010]

All-tube amp
5W
Connectors and input for a guitar
simple settings: 4 buttons (1 volume, 1 bass, 1 middle, 1 treeble)
no effect (but hey, it is added with pedals)

I put my 7 / 10 for me because it lacks reverb, and a second channel switcher to easily overdrive / clean

UTILIZATION

The configuration could not be simpler. 4 buttons (1 volume, 1 bass, 1 middle, 1 treeble). One branch, and we play!
The manual provided is worse than useless.

In terms of sound is something else: the quality is impeccable, but to get a popping sound, push the amp into high volumes, and push this brand lamp base can wake the dead. So to play on stage is not so bad, but to play in his room, it becomes a problem.
We must therefore remain on low volumes, but the sound is "clean." To remedy this, I took a BOSS DS-1 distortion. She plays the role of footswitch clean / distortion. like that, I can play in saturated even at low volumes.

I therefore put 8 / 10, because for the scratch chamber (and even in the studio, you need a drummer balèze, if you do not hear) that wish to play in full, we had to find a "combination" as the mine (plug in a distortion pedal or overdrive).

SOUNDS

I play rock, hard rock, blues and rock.
This amp is perfect for that.

All-tube amp, so its hot.
But the bass is very important. I leave at a maximum, and they are already present too!

I play it with a Gibson SG standard. This is PERFECT!

In clean, sound is not bad at all (indeed as stated above, there is almost as clean, except in very high volumes. So it is better to use an overdrive pedal and / or distortion to get a popping sound in low volumes).

And saturated, if you find the right setup, you can find his legendary AC / DC! (I'm a fan)

But beware! good sound, but very powerful! neighbors will be lenient.

8 / 10, for the lack of distorted sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 days.

Before, I only played on the Marshall MG series (usually 100W). I prefer this one by far, despite the fact that it has no effect and only one channel. Indeed, the tube sound is much nicer than transistor amplifiers.

the +:

Sound Quality
the design (vintage, beautiful)
ease of use
the price (there are not many tube amp of this quality in this price range)

the -:

the lack of effect (reverb mostly, I only use this one)
the only channel which includes clean and saturated
weight (you can not carry it everywhere)

I put an overall score of 8 / 10, making it a very good amp room or Repeat '(but for the stage, it may be limited in terms of power, I do not know if can take 5W the move)

With experience, I would do this choice.
