This is a brand lamps, 2 HP 12 "Celestion, it makes much better with only one HP, there's no photo. The fuller, rounder.
For those who say that 60W is not enough or you are already deaf, or you intend to play at the Stade de France without sound. Because, once fully, this amp will make you deaf even if you are in the room next door, the door closed. An incredible racket. It vibrates so much that the screws will loosen the grip and fall ... It is comparable to a Fender Performer 1000, which was yet in theory 40 W more ...
Indeed, a 20 watt would be enough for the home.
UTILIZATION
Super easy to get a good sound if the guitar is well set.
SOUNDS
Its super light and very variable depending on the gain settings. Get jazzy sound and very compressed is possible to over 6 or 7 on the gain.
The reverb blends beautifully with the clean set on 5. It's beautiful.
Not agree with critics of the distortion. On the 5, the gain can bcp things. For example, to a distorted version of "Another World" phone - it goes perfectly with my Godin LGX on the middle position.
In the three quarters, the distortion does not win and you really gain some easily remain unsatisfied side sustain for solos. Moreover, three quarters is the maximum use beyond that loses precision, I think.
To gain distortion, we must boost the input level, why a good compressor or a good distortion pedal can do the trick as long as you adjust it. Be careful not to push too hard if you break the settings and the sound is disgusting. I get good results with my pedal Ibanez Tube King Tube (distortion, and compression). There, the extreme distortion are readily available.
For solos, I still prefer a good old JCM 900 with a 4x12 or 8x12 (!) But must admit that the sound of the JCM 900 is very common and hardly original. The JTM, he does not grow on trees and combined with an unusual guitar, the sound character of its own.
OVERALL OPINION
Before buying the JTM 60 (4x10 followed by its extension, which is placed below and give a sacred pace to the amp, which is all the same with 6 HP), I tried a couple of Fender, Blues Deluxe and Hot Rod, and also a Peavey I think.
The Fender was a horror. Yet I had left my Performer 1000, overpowered a Fender, with two channels of distortion, and architexture hybrid lamp for a poor marketing and saturated channels.
On Fenders, bass were uncontrolled, the equalizer can be inefficient (not already mega-efficient JTM), and distos muddy, unusable. The Blues Deluxe is a crap name, and then I came across a faulty model.
The JTM has a face of its own, very British with colors, whether for sound or appearance. If it was it takes a crane to carry (24 kg I believe, without the extension, making it 20 if I remember correctly) and the lack of sustain distortion, this amp is more versatile while with real character. To rock a little 60/70 's is an excellent choice.
