    Intro level price and sound

    Marshall MA100CPublished on 06/01/11 at 17:56
This is a entry level sounding and priced amp from Marshall. This is the intro tube version amp from Marshall which sounds the part. It is as lousy as you can imagine. The clean is the best part if you don't count the part of it being in the standby position. The distortion is a load of bees buzzing around in a can loaded with fizz. Just a terrible sounding amp that I would be ashamed of producing!

    SOUNDS

The tone if you can call it that was just terrible. The sound is irritating to say the least. I have played many Marshall amplifiers in my day and some of them weren't great. However, this series is just down right shameful. I understand the need to get the price point in the hands of kiddies, and I'm sure Marshall makes more money off these amps then they do with their JCM lines, but come on there is a standard to keep and this is not it.

    OVERALL OPINION

I wouldn't recommend this amp to anyone. If your looking for a tube amplifier then there are plenty of other option to choose from with out submitting to this kind of musical torture.

At new these amps come in at around $900 which is about $800 over price. This amp is garbage and there isn't any reason to purchase something like this. If you want a decent tube amp in this range than get a used Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100.
