2-channel amplifier with switchable 30W All Tube 15w 7w or (4 x ECC83 preamp =, = 4 x EL84 power, Effects loop = 1 x ECC81).
WARNING! On the loudspeaker: As indicated on the website of the manufacturer's hp is a 12 "Celestion G12H30. I have seen many websites where one indicates a Celestion V30. I bought this amp on a German site well known to us all that indicates it is a V30, I did verify the information by customer service who confirmed the presence of a V30 and now he is home, I can tell you that it is indeed a G12H30. Personally, I also contacted Orange safety so I knew I would have a G12H but I warn you if you insist on V30 ...
I also think it is important to note that the rear of the cabinet is closed to 2 / 3.
Front:
- Clean channel: Volume, Bass, Treble
- Dirty Channel: Volume, Shape, Gain
- Switch to toggle the mode HALF FULL POWER POWER (15w)
Back:
- Footswitch jack
- Send / Return effect loop
- HP Output: 1x16Ohm and 2x8Ohm
- Switch to select if you use 4 or 2 power tubes. So if we use the HALF POWER mode (15w) and using only 2 power tubes when the amp is a power of about 7W. All right, this is really handy as needed (studio, rehearsal, concert, room ...) and type "body" you want for his sound.
UTILIZATION
Configuration is very simple, it's plug and play. The "manual" will actually ..., 2 pages, but no longer needs.
SOUNDS
The adjustments are very minimal. It is important to be aware that the quality of the guitar, microphones and the guitarist will play very important to the sound delivered by this amp. While it is always important to me tell you, but I think a little more here than elsewhere!
CLEAN CHANNEL:
A real clean sound that can lead to cruncher slightly depending on volume.
With the knobs at 12 o'clock, all's well balanced. Free us to refine the bass and treble as desired.
DIRTY CHANNEL:
Here, no EQ, but simply a knob shape above.
To oversimplify, the more you turn the volume pot "shape" to the right, the sound compresses and loses mediums. Thus obtaining more modern sounds and / or "easy" to play from that side. To me this is not my thing.
With the "Shape" at 12 o'clock, the sound is balanced and if one travels to the left we find more vintage sounds and good dynmique.
Concerning the gain, this amp has a big reserve. Like all amplifiers, avoid extreme settings on pain of having a horrible sound!
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 1 month.
Before you buy this combo I played on a Mesa / Boogie Dual Rectifier.
I also occasionally played on a lot of other amps: Marshall JCM2000 and 800, JVM, Laney VC30 and so on.
I think this amp will feel at him in many musical styles.
Regardless, it sounds really great, you do your part of the job!
The pros:
- Tone / Transparency
- Switchable Power
- Baffle closed to 2 / 3
- Building strong enough
- Value for money
The -:
- No footswitch included
I would do this choice!
