Value For Money : Poor
2-channel all-tube amp in Mount * 4 + 2 * 12AX7 6L6
A 12AX7 is used Tage in the power circuit, bringing the power of 60 Watts tration. No rverbe.

Two small red LEDs are placed derrire the 6L6 to make them look "bright" trs class (the mode: a lamp, it must shine!)

Connections: a guitar faade between the rear outputs for 4 DIFFERENT types of cabinet (1 * 12 to 4 * 12), an effects loop (with mix knob) and between a footswitch to the minimum what!

Knobs in faade: gain, bass, middle, treble, presence, master A, B and master every type of "chicken head" of high quality ... The whole is mounted on a type "mirror" trs trs but pretty sensitive to fingerprints ...

Switch faade: on / off and standby for more than a 6L6 and a bright clear sound for the depth and the channel change button of course ...

There is a system that the intensity of CONTRL 6L6 asked to avoid them gun down in bad connection of the baffle.

Everything is placed in a box coated with a solid trs tough grilling in faade giving a great look "metal" the bte. The head is large and requires a 100 W without being super heavy (18 kg). The finish is excellent.

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple because there are only two channels: clear and "hi-gain".
Gain, and qualisation prsence are shared by both channels.

The knobs change the sound depth and there are ways to obtain a wide range of sounds trs, clear light of the big big disto, through the crunchy hot. By varying the volume of the guitar is even wider possibilities ...

The manual is minimalist but sufficient given the simplicity of the machine. In addition, we can find the electric circuit of this amp on the web: trs useful for handymen and ca is better than 100 pages of user manual!

I read that some gns by the problem of channel change: without footswicth master each branch is assigned a channel, which is handy. Ds, but we put a footswitch, you lose this shift simultaneously "channel + master" should be supported on both switches simultanment! The solution: review of the footswitch cblage using a single switch, but as a branch qu'inverseur ...

Personal, I put a clip in the multi-effect loop to grate the issues of volume and qualisation rhythm / solo, etc.. So no soucy of ct if not affect the height of the amp ...

SOUNDS

This amp is versatile astonishment trs. He really excels in the big sound typical metal certainly, but it sounds as though trs for clean sounds. On this point, it clearly outperforms the competition, especially in this crnau metal.

The clear sound of the guitar spring fawn trs clear: all the nuances of the game are it's own trs. Mean the difference between a good scratch and a good entry level. What bliss it's clean and warm at times! It's not good but it's a Fender amp man ...

The TRS is saturated "complete", as opposed to Marshall's rather "nasal" Whatever we do. For big sound mtal, the diffrence is a must and a little relgue standard JCM in the background! The precision of the sound that comes out of the ENGL is pretty impressive. The saturation level is noooorme with my EMG I put the gain 1 / 3 or 1 / 2 ...

Round trips in palm muting sound really hell: they are always great as trs Defines all powerful, fat as I like. The feedback is trs contrlable amp and virtually no snoring, it's really a pure rgal ...

OVERALL OPINION

The sound quality is really excellent, especially for the price: as it is often said, it is more that of prs Mesa (expensive!) Than that of Marshall (about the same price) . Important precision: I use an ENGL cabinet 2 * 12 Mt in V30, which contributes greatly the quality of sound ... I think the 2 * 12 V30 sounds much better than the studio BPS 1960A (which is admittedly a little tired.

The power of 60 W is more than sufficient for trs RPTES and scne and can "push" the amp a bit (when in the BPS are never 100 W pousss it right, if not mean more power ..! see many ads for guys who sell them too big for 100 W). That same limit to play in his apartment: the master is barely above zero-! But the sound is good trs same low volume. Any fawn is putting much stronger than the ENGL dvoile subtleties!

I think this is one of the best currently heads the market for this price range. His great ERRF the Powerball, with its four channels, should really be the ultimate amp, but aside half and more.

Anyway, thank you ENGL Designed to have the head! A must try if you want something other than Marshall ...
