UTILIZATION

This head is extremely easy to use, it goes straight to the essential, not superfluous. The manual is written in English and German and not very comprehensive, but it is useless, because given the simplicity of setting any guitarist can easily find these benchmarks.

On the rear we find the connections for speakers. Clearly explained, it allows all sorts of combinations: 1x8ohms, 1x16ohm, or 2x8ohm 2x16ohms. No puzzle into perspective for wiring so.
Also on the back there are the effects loop, with Parameter dry / wet, allowing mixing between the output of the preamp and effects loop. It is pleasant to note that when the setting is thoroughly wet on the effects loop series is 100%. Unfortunately the effects loop is not switchable ...
To finish on the back, there is the connection of the footswitch and a volume knob 2nd, which allows using the footswitch to boost the sound for solos.

Turning to serious matters: the front panel. It includes the volume knobs of the channels clean and drive. There is also a switch normal / bright, add a can of gloss.
In terms of equalization, one equalizer common to both channels. This can be daunting but in fact one that is not annoying at all. Indeed a presence knob is used to set the rate of acute in the drive channel that will somehow act as a second equalizer. The knobs of the equalizer are accurate and consistently active throughout their race.
Always on the front, there is a switch high gain / low gain that will put quite a kick in the behind the gain of the amplifier. This switch is active on both channels, when active, forget the clean channel is a channel crunch. Which raises a problem, impossible to switch to heavy distotion clean without having to press two swich, but we shall return later.
To finish on this front, there is a switch drive / clean, a reverb knob common to both channels, master volume and a must-standby switch and on / off.

Regarding the pedal, it incorporates the main features of the amp, ie switch high gain / low gain switch chanel clean / drive, reverb switch, volume switch activates the 2nd volume cited above.


SOUNDS

Finally the serious stuff, Palmer is direct with us, we have to do the "real" all-tube, no transistor is present in the head, not even in the effects loop, which is boosted by a dedicated tube.

When the switch is on low gain:

When the switch is on high gain:

It completely changes the size, become clean crunch, pushed a can, the sound get very roaring. The drive channel when it turns to heavy distortion, big fans of his and metalheads will find their account, nothing scares this amp. The sound is not distorted to the extent, the heat lamp is always present, and the amp retains its grain.
Note still a black spot on the high gain mode, it is almost impossible to get a clean sound if the switch is activated. The big problem is that to move to a clean sound you must switch on the low gain mode and switch the channel. OVERALL OPINION

This one can do within a week I own this amp (it's fresh!), I could not test it extensively in high volume only once so far (I live in apartment ) and this is my first amp lamp. The future will strengthen me or not but I was glued to the first use, and I love the sound the amp so that I am now disgusted to play with headphones (requires apart) on my multi-effects (Zoom G7). Before my purchase, during my research I had the opportunity to test a head Egnater Rebel 30 and I must say that it is misery palmer ^ ^.
This is exactly the sound I was looking for but palmer is poorly distributed in France, because Paris was risky to buy an amp without playing it can sometimes bring surprises. But in this case it was a good surprise because I find the sound much better in real than what can be heard on the video of the net.
The little extra that make fun unpacking, Palmer thought to provide us with two electrostatic pick and a sticker.

Finally:

The +: versatility, finishes, boost volume at the base, ease of use, sound

The -: no switch for the effects loop, no clean high gain if the swich is activated (= double foot switch for passage of heavy distotion to clean), reverb a bit shy, little known brand in France difficult to test before buying.
