2 new Focusrite Scarlett audio interfaces
Focusrite announces the release in June of two new red Scarlett 6i6 and 18i8 USB audio interfaces.
Both the Scarlett 6i6 and 18i8 feature USB 2.0 connections and the famous Focusrite mic preamps and are compatible with iDevices.
The Scarlett 18i8 hosts four preamps, four line inputs and ADAT is available. In total, it offers 18 inputs and 8 outputs as well as two headphone outputs with independent routing and volume controls.
The red unibody brushed aluminum chassis is used here once again, along with the "halo" gain meters, a large front control knob for the main monitor and the MixControl DSP mixer. The Scarlett Plug-in Suite in VST, AU and RTAS, XCite + Pack, Ableton Live Lite DAW, Bass Station virtual Synth and 1GB of samples by Loopmasters also ship with the unit. The ADAT connection offers 8 additional inputs, an extra preamp (like the OctoPre MkII), for a total of 12 available mic preamps. US price is $449.99.
The Scarlett 6i6 includes two mic preamps, 6 inputs and 6 outputs (4 balanced and digital S/PDIF), as well as two headphone outs with dedicated volume controls. You'll find the same unibody red aluminum chassis and the front main monitor knob as on the other Scarlett interfaces. The DSP MixControl mixer and the software suite is also included. US price is $299.99.
