Installation:
Not (too) BUT problem (if my memory is good), the library and VSTi are one.
Me I usually install my Cubase VST, and the library on a disk combines ddi. L I could not and I had to install the VSTi on my hard samples and add the path to plugin Cubase.
Compatibility:
I'm a PC / Cubase SX3. Absolutely no problem. Loading the library is progressive and does not freeze during loading Cubase (the inverse of Stylus).
Configuration:
Simplicity itself.
Manual:
No need.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
No problem, fast, consumes little.
This plugin works flawlessly.
So this is a virtual drum comes with two kits: drums and congas. You can select each element from a (small) select (6 BD, 5 SN, HH 2, etc.).
Once loaded the kit you can choose a groove and prcouter. A groove is actually a small midifile (compatible GM) that is slip-DPOS finally on a track of his squenceur.
The styles on offer are small but contain a large number of variations trs.
There are four families: 4 / 4, 4 / 4 shuffle, 3 / 4 and 6 / 8 (if my memory is good, I'm not soft on hand).
At the indoor of each family, we find the same styles: Rock / Funk (syncope / Motown (2 / 4) / Ballad / Rimshot / Fills.
At the indoor style of each, it was a good twenty Grooves, a good paddle Submitted variations.
And finally, for each Groove, a score of patterns (eg Rock 4th, 4th Hihat Open, Close Hihat Ghost 8th, 16th Open Hihat, 8th Ghost Ride, etc ...)
For a given style so there is a standard varieties of reasons, and usability of the software allows drag and DPOs to quickly HYPER living parts of battery.
Obviously, the whole tempo of the host s'autosynchronise time-rel. A button to humanize hits (empty can) and another strike VLOC Sets the (very useful and trsraliste).
Dernire section: the mix.
EZDrummer provides a small table by lment mix (with volume, pan), with 2 mics for the snare (Front and Rear, trs good), but nothing for the cymbals and the ride! To hear them, use two other ways: Overhead and Room.
Too bad. Room Plutt the way, I use a plugin prfre ddi (eg atmosphere)
It is possible to route each element to one of 8 channels strospares.
Obviously it is possible to plug in the MIDI CONTRL (to play via a keyboard or a MIDI drum). However, the knob of VLOC can not be automated.
BONUS: I represented and the existence of a bell, which appears nowhere in the interface or the manual. I suppose it is also transplanted in overhead.
OVERALL OPINION
I've had two months. Its handling extremely simple fact that one can quickly explore trs the possibilities of this plugin.
Likes:
- Sound. The elements are selected by default, others less so. The battery is well sampled t trs. The hi-hat are a little aggressive, but makes up for with a little EQ. As the battery is recorded 'as is', you can add compression, EQ or otherwise without dsagrment.
NOTE: DO NOT RELY ON-LINE DEMOS. Their sound is awful.
- The grooves. They are impeccably recorded, Varis, trs pro, bravo to the drummer. Nothing sounds midifile. The girls are numerous and efficient trs (1 4 measurements).
- The ease of use. Within minutes, you can get a model of battery trs bluffing.
- The price and above the price / features.
I like least:
- No way to mix dedicates two cymbals and ride. It's a shame, because to hear them you really set the stage overhead, changing the mix.
- knob VLOC of non-automated.
- Not enough styles REPRESENTATIVES.
- The Way Room with its reverb too dense.
- Not much lments (but for the price, we will not complain ...)
- Mode "preview" loop that does not s'arrte starts playback when the host.
I look forward to extensions to see if they correct a few points.
