I run a Macbook with Logic 9 and Ableton 7. I have had no compatibility functions. But, I do have this strange problem when I start up the plugin. It cuts in and out a few times, especially when I play hard on the keys. After about 30 seconds it goes away, and thankfully, doesn't return. Its strange, it also happens with the EG70 plugin by these guys.
I've not referenced the manual on this one. So far, I haven't needed any help. All the features are accessible and easy to use.
The setup is simple and logical.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

It does not crash or lose presets or anything else and after it "warms up" as I like to say, it is a real treat.
As for performance, I give it a 9 out of 10. The only failing is the cutting in and out.
I have been using this plugin for about a year.
OVERALL OPINION
The best thing about the Mr. Ray is the sound. Its spot on. This is always the plugin I use when I need a rhodes. I own the real thing (88 key Mark 1) and I am astounded how close it sounds. Whatever those guys are doing at GSi, they know how to do it. All there plugins sound fantastic.
There is not much to dislike about the quality of this plugin. Its a great alternative to dragging my super heavy Mark 1 anywhere.
The quality of the sound is excellent. It blows Lounge Lizard out of the water in my opinion. I have tried many others but this one takes the cake. I haven't tried Native Instruments yet, but I look forward to comparing.
Yes, I would definitely make the same choice. I highly recommend this plugin.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
Given the size it consumes nothing
OVERALL OPINION
I tested almost everything and the only one that I remember, even in front of large banks (eg Scarbee) . It is the most faithful (after a comparison true). I pilot a master keyboard 76 keys, weighted keys, I set all my pots in midi learn to control in real time. For an optimal pairing it with a tube amp simulator and you're there, nothing else to add ...

Virtual reproduction of a Rhodes 73 key MK2
MrRay73 Mark II is a digital simulation of the famous american electro-mechanical piano of the seventies, invented during World War II by a music teacher, Harold B. Rhodes (1910 - 2000), and widely used in almost all musical genres ranging from soul/black music to jazz, blues, modern and pop. This instrument has rapidly become a legend, and is still used today, altough samples have replaced the real thing so that very often music producers use huge sample libraries or hardware keyboards / workstations to achieve this kind of sonority, and often the result is a cold and 'dead' sound, with no vitality, no warmth, nothing that even compares to the unpredictability and genuineness of the real thing. In 2007 an enterprising and far-seeing american businessman has started a new Company with the aim to re-manufacture the piano using the same recipe of the old factory, employing the same ingredients and offering the same "taste" of the vintage instrument. The new "Mark 7" piano was presented at the NAMM show and it was a big success. It's on the market again, after about 20 years, with the same name, same "soul" but largely improved under many important technical aspects.
