[NAMM] The Korg Kronos will ship in February

The latest generation of Korg Kronos workstations features three 61-semi weighted, 73 and 88 hammer action (RH3) keyboards, each equipped with a dual joystick (X/Y vector), touch-strip controller, a brand new color touch screen that supports drag and drop, 8 knobs, 9 sliders and 16 backlit buttons. The black panel with wooden sides is also more compact.

Korg installed a brand new SGX-2 piano engine that includes the new Berlin Grand instrument, a selection of sounds from the Kronos, artist, Master Sound Design Team and Famous Song Sounds expansion libraries. 9 synthesis engines are also available, as well as Karma sequencing tools, drum tracks and an open sampling system.

You can record 16 audio tracks and sequence 16 MIDI tracks, to which you can add any of the 16 effect processors.

Connections on the new Kronos include a USB/MIDI port for adding control surfaces (Korg microKEY, NanoPAD 2…), MIDI in, out and thru, 2 switchable mic/ligne audio inputs with dedicated levels, 4 mono audio and one stereo L/R inputs, three jacks for external pedals and an S/PDIF digital in and out.

The new Kronos will be available in February, 2015. EU pricing announced is 2,990 € for the Kronos 61, 3,690 € for the Kronos 73 and 3,999 € for the Kronos 88.
