I work as a tar on it recently and I must say that before this machine, I did almost the hardware, I am now forced to reconsider my position on this thing!
My only regret, and in fact the machine which stretched the possibilities of sampling is 512 mb ... empty book! Not even 4 mgas for fun! Too bad!
I think for less than 3000, you can go, it's clear that the machine should be upgrade but the key is that your bf and then good will and your ladies and gentlemen purse of course!

The whole synth is nice and fairly intuitive interface. Everything works with key menu and sub menu under the screen that are very practical when we used this result does navigation trs quickly.

I use it coupled with korg karma and as a master keyboard for the Roland XV5050, the possibilities are almost unlimited
I would do without hsiter this choice and for less than 3000 euros to touch the keyboard is a remarkably good value quality price trs.

I have many years of experience in the music field. I started to learn music when I was a kid using YAMAHA PSS680. Then I changed my keyboard several times(PSR 500-PSR 740). In 2005 I went for total software solution( DAW- VSI). During the last 5 years I lost a lot of my creativity and productivity since the work flow was not convenient( PC crashes- software incompatibility -low quality samples-.......) and I did not realized that until I bought MOTIF es 8 in 2010 and the pains gone for ever!!!!!

UTILIZATION

It is an incredible device. Before my purchase I did an extensive research to find out which brand has the best sounds. I checked the Roland Fantom G / Kurzweil PC3X / KORG m3 and Yamaha MOTIF es.
The motif was a head and a shoulder above all of them regarding the sound quality. Recently I tested the Motif XF against the Korg kronos
(patch comparison) and the quality of the Motif sounds were better. Of course I know that this quality thing is totally subjective.


SOUNDS

But I want to say that Don't believe the hypes. The specification is something on the paper but you have to listen to the sounds. Motif is a deep machine and you can tweak the sounds and you have limitless options.

OVERALL OPINION

Buy the motif and five years later when you feel the sounds are dated(which won't) you can buy 2GB flash ROM and suddenly you have a new synth !!! 88 keys is huge difference from 61 keys I had before. Now I can finally have convenient full range control over my software VST Instruments. I would guess the only disadvantages for some would be its weight, but since I use it in studio it's not a disadvantage for me. I ask myself, Do you really need that expensive synth? I guess only you yourself will be able to answer this question, as for me, I feel it worth every penny.

6 happy years of use in all kinds of context

the keyboard is still light
and I have to tighten the hull despite a transport flight case that does not move
but simply because I stand a long time on X in concert
it is essential to the barbecue stand with 4 legs and full support,
the beast is heavy!

do I use the sequencer as patch stage, otherwise I'm on Logic, Mainstage, sequencer without interest for me, I bought it for its strength and its sounds

This is a great workstation, with enough octaves for a pro keyboard player. The Yamaha Motif es 8 is the industry standard as far as quality sounds go. The board is really easy to understand and navigate through, you will get the hang of it after a week or two. Probably wont even need the manual if you are familiar with these type of workstations. But if you do need to use the manual its really easy and work though and understand and you will be on your way to making great music in no time at all.

UTILIZATION

This board has midi connections ins and outs along with audio. The Yamaha Motif ES 8 comes with great presets and stock sounds. I am a big fan of the brass on this board, all of the brass is very clean and crisp and realistic. Some of the brass is kind of like a plastic sound though and not as warm as the sounds on its rival the Roland Fantom. But the synths on the Yamaha Motif es8 out shine the synths on any of its competitors by far. Very airy and clean synths and leads to brighten up your music real fast.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is a powerful board, the price I paid was 2,500 which is a bit on the high in. You can get the Yamaha Motif ES 6 for cheaper and it’s the exact same thing which is what I should have done. But you get what you pay for and Yamaha Delivers quality and great support and warranties for all of the products that they sell and the Yamaha ES 8 is no exception to that. This board is built tough and built to last. You will need this for all of your projects in the years to come.

A true all in metal tanks that PSE all the same 30 kg. There is an impression of robustness that sky is clear when one looks at it.
It is more impressive than my piano digital creation area.

UTILIZATION

The grip is very blurred. Yet I had the small MM6 and thought that philosophy was a little the same but not really ....
It also takes some getting used enough guts and very little load functions.
Reading the manual is almost essential even if not of great clarity and it must really be motivated to read.
The squenceur Pattern mode lets you record beats with ease dconcertante.
This keyboard helps to have inspiration. It sounds good and now it is carried away in improvisation. Thing I have trouble with vst on the computer.


SOUNDS

The sounds are really an amazing quality.
The effects are terribly effective. Just cut them and deliver them to see the difference. Of course there are sounds with VST equivalent but far from sounding like the ES.
I record with numrique Completely in the optical output option card connects between the numrique a fast track pro. The sequences are recorded are of great purity.



OVERALL OPINION

I've had a few days. I'll get used to this quality can be so I prefer to give my opinion now.

Definitely will take a couple of weeks to get everything down. Can be a little confusing at first, but once you got it figured out, it's pretty much a breeze. The sequencer is very easy to work and intuitive, but editing sequences can be kind of clunky.

SOUNDS

As far as "real" sounds and accoustics go, it can't be beat. Pads and drumkits are nice too, but basically the same sounds found in all romplers.

OVERALL OPINION

Very well built. Like a tank. Buttons, knobs and faders are all feel well made.

Got mad love for this, has authentic sounds that will never go out of style.
