Akai adds to its MPK keyboard controller range three new models that were introduced at NAMM 2014.

The MPK Series now includes the three new MPK225, MPK249 and MPK261 models, each featuring a new design with 8 MPC backlit trigger pads and a 20 character LCD display for software parameters. You can also send QWERTY-style commands using soft synth and connect an iOS device via the Apple USB camera connection kit. The three keyboards include semi-weighted keys, along with pitch bend and modulation wheels. The MPK49 and MPK61 models also host 8 faders.

The new MPK MIDI keyboards ship with a software bundle featuring the Ableton Live Lite DAW, MPC Essentials and the SONiVOX Twist spectral morphing synth. If you purchase the MPK49, you will also get the third version of the AIR Music Tech Hybrid synth and Akai included the SONiVOX Eighty-Eight Ensemble with the MPK261.

Akai also revisited its 25-key MPK Mini to add a joystick for pitch bend and modulation control, the trigger pads from the MPC Renaissance, a repeat note function and an enhanced mini-keyboard.
