« Taylor 714-CE »

Published on 12/18/03 at 15:00
Well, i had just gone to the gun store to try out a pistol i wanted to buy. On the way back i stopped at a large guitar store that i liked to go to(The Guitar Center, in Oklahoma City.). I went in to the "Holy" humitity controled room and started to try out all of the Martins, Taylors, and a few Tacomas. After trying them all out the one that i thought was the best looking and had a good balance in sound was the Taylor 714-CE. As i was in a dream at this point (And this guitar was way out of my price range retailing at $3500) i jokingly asked how much. The guy told me $3200 but said that he had one out front going for $800 with a "scratch" on it. I am imagining a huge gap in it that has ruined the guitar, but when i saw it, there was a small 2mm long scratch right by the cutaway. A DREAM COME TRUE! i was there at 4 am the next morning to buy it at the memorial day sale, and i got it despite the line (i was the first one!)

It also had a 3 peice back and exceptionaly dark rosewood, a beautiful guitar. The sound it balanced well, with a great base sound (The way i like it.). The only guitar that i have heard that was better base is my friends Breedlove (Great guitars also.).

The small scratch, im not complaining for $800!

It's a Taylor... enough said.

I cannot begin to praise the wonders of this guitar, despite the great sound of the fishman prefix stereo blender. If u are thinking of getting this guitar, i encourage you to get it. If you don't believe my when i tell you this is one of the best guitars in the world (im not kidding.), the next time your at a guitar store, try out a 714-CE and see what i mean
