- Other alternatives:
* Neumann KH120 => impressive in size and more serious than some much larger speakers. beautiful definition. listening less veiled that CMS
* Solo6: Medium fine and a lot of info in the treble. Lack of safe though.
* Adam A8X: Severe acute explosive and high-pitched but a hollow in the medium
* Adam A7x more balanced than A8X even if the bass is less powerful
* CMS 50 & 65: listening a bit bland for my taste and lack of safe. Overvalued?
* Neumann KH310: very good on the whole spectrum. may lack a little luster. expensive.

- PMC very homogeneous and fine workmanship. Price making unpopular despite exceptional qualities. little distributed in France despite a huge success elsewhere and numerous awards

- The price fell below 3k. 2.3k to some sellers in the value for money is very interesting.

if you want a captivating speaker to listen while retaining qualities specific to monitoring neutrality. this is an excellent choice.

I needed to go upmarket for my main pair of plays, the Dynaudio BM6A, I dragged in a bunch of years! In addition to my little Focal CMS40. I work mainly in TV / Cinema, in order to have a power gain and definition in the low / medium to avoid any surprises after arrival in the finalization auditorium.

SOUNDS

For once, I'll make it short ... I actually find no fault with this pair of speaker, it's easy! the frequency curve is a real highway, listening is purely analytical, the stereo image is huge, with the added bonus that there is a true "center" virtual capacity reserve is incredible, and the absence of bass-reflex is largely offset by technology PMC internal, so no cheating, there was a low-medium imposing and perfectly defined, just like the below, this generous and well, and especially ... defined. It's my opinion on this point that PMC buries competition, transients are millimeter, and no "lag" is heard, the amplification is really wonderful at this level, a copy responsiveness and devoid of any component "musical" as some would say ... The treble is exemplary, hyper-defined but devoid of any aggressive component, as is the case with Adam or Dynaudio, suddenly we listen 10 hours a day all week without any ear fatigue. Another surprising aspect that competition does not: a response and a dynamic that does not move regardless of the noise level, and an incredibly wide sweet-spot.

OVERALL OPINION

I use them for 6 months, and progress is enormous, especially in terms of votes, the refinement of temporal effects (on the rediscovery huge reverbs) and also the dynamics. To listen to music that is downright luxury, I'm almost more fun than my hifi composition. Rediscovering Your CDs provided.

I tried for 10 years or almost all brands, but my current pair Focal / PMC, for sure, I'm not about to change!

In my opinion, the only real competitors come home audio PSI, Klinger-Favre or Klein & Hummel.

The investment is important, but it is quickly forgotten when clients are delighted and the pleasure is more present than ever. Moreover, in this occasion is a very good deal.

In short, a formidable work tool, but not that!
