Korg microKORG XL+ Classic

The MicroKorg XL can be purchased in a few different versions and colors. I have the limited Edition all black MicroKorg and it cost 515 dollars brand new. It has 37 keys and comes with a built in 16 band vocoder. There are a total of 128 sounds on the MicroKorg XL, and the reason that I got this limited edition version is just because I like the “all black” design. Everything is black even the “white” keys are black. There is only silver knobs and writing on it. They also make a standard version but it looked really boring compared to this version and they were both the same price so I went and got this one.

UTILIZATION

The 16 band vocoder is awesome. I have not performed with it yet, but I plan on really getting out there and doing some live stuff with this vocoder that the MicroKorg has. The microphone is a goose neck mic and can be adjusted to different positions depending on where the user wants it.

SOUNDS

There is an LCD screen on this board too; there are 3 knobs that basically control all of the functions for the LCD screen. It is very easy to choose your filters and add effects with the screen. The overall sound of this board is very classic, the 128 sounds that it comes with are all very good and have value right way without having to do anything too them. But if you want to tweak the sounds to make your own you can do that without a problem.

OVERALL OPINION

This board can be run off of batteries or from wall AC power making it very portable. The board didn’t come with a carrying case or any type of protection so I am not going to be traveling with it too much just yet until I get a case for it. This synth is well worth the money spent and I recommend getting the “limited edition” one because it looks way better than the standard one!

The Microkorg XL + has the same features as the Microkorg XL with the exception of a few loan sounds (sounds like dubstep): mini key keyboard with 3 octaves. 128 sounds excellent quality all modifiable. It has a wide range of effects such as reverb, delay, phaser etc ...
It is polyphonic. It also has a 16-band vocoder with mic provides. There is an arpeggiator that can be set via the menu.
This is a synth-oriented style more like hip hop, dubstep, trance, rock, pop and many other but mainly electro.
It is equipped with two audio sorites, a headphone output, both standard MIDI connectors, a line input and a USB port.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration is rather simple. It takes almost no time to turn and provides manual is very clear. The only detail that is stuck editing sounds. We are obliged to go through a menu to change which makes use of the most difficult beast to live. But despite this defect, we will mark easily in the menu.

SOUNDS

The sounds are awesome! They fit perfectly with my style of music.
There are all the bass, leads, strings, pads, PolySynth, vocoder all very good. Velocity is quite effective and realistic effects. There are currently no aftertouch which is not a problem for me.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about 6 months and I'm glad ^ ^. He accompanies me everywhere, and is a loyal friend who ink perfectly with my other synth . The price quality ratio is unbeatable in my opinion.
What I like in the XL + is its portability, sound quality and vocoder. It is a choice I would do eyes closed.
It is recommended for those seeking a synth quality to complete a workstation or so people wanting a first synth that does not take up too much space.

Following the theft of the first generation microkorg I bought this newer model and richer with contentment
as it also works rpiles know, I take by plane and train to bump headphone with
he also serves as a keyboard up on stage and at home program as a master keyboard light
it is light to carry
does not take place
a great quality / price ratio? not because of anything anyway today is!
But in this price range, I have not found better in my synth match
